Turbo Fire Starting to get too Easy

I've been doing Turbo Fire for about a year and I must say it's starting to get too easy that I don't feel like I'm getting a good Cardio Workout as much as I used to. I do Insanity a little bit, but it's not my favorite workout. Besides Insanity, what other workout DVDs offer and intense cardio workout? As a note, I don't have a choice but to workout at home. I don't own an elliptical or a treadmill. I do weight training as well. Mostly Kelley Coffey-Meyers. Love her. That aside, I'm really looking for intense cardio. Or how do I add intensity to my Turbo Fire workouts? I already used one pound weighted gloves. One pound per glove. Should I up it to two? TIA!

Where do you get your strength training from? Just curious

You could try T25 or the new Insanity Max 30 that's coming out in December, but if you aren't a big Insanity fan those might not be the best choices--is it the workout itself or Shaun T that you don't like? You also could definitely try upping the weight on your gloves for Turbo!

Try some cardio that involves strength training as well. I can personally breeze through Turbo Fire right now because I did it so much, so I switched it up to Ruthless which incorporates body weight exercises and I am feeling very challenged even though the it is only a 20 minute workout. Not to mention that the scale is starting to move very quickly again.

    My recommendations:
    Jillian Michaels videos
    Ruthless by Weider
Chalean Extreme (her cardio videos in this series are different than what she normally does)

To be honest if intensity is what you're looking for, cardio alone isn't the answer. Beyond a certain point, the only thing you can do to make cardio "harder" is to do it for longer. The only way to change that is to add a resistance/strength training element to it, such as circuit training.
  • I would recommend kettle bell training, circuit training, jumping rope, etc. Tae Bo is really intense and some step aerobics or hip hop workouts can be really intense.

Look up Fit Trading on Face Book. You can trade your Turbo Fire for something that will challenge you.

P90, Les Mills Combat or Pump are good next steps. Sounds like you have built up the endurance for Turbo Fire. Let me know if you want help figuring out the next home workout to choose.
