I know- seriously. I can't. even.0

I cringe at all the going commando in here. Please make sure you wipe down the equipment you're using.0

I'm actually really surprised at how many people go commando or are in a thong at the gym
I've been debating it recently because of chaffing/bruising I get when running (not really chub rub but more underwear digging into my skin and abrading it)
Curious though, has anyone had any issue with UTI's when going commando or wearing a thong?0 -
I've made my strong feelings about my thin M&S granny knickers fully protecting me from all my hand and back sweat on the bench known in a similar post on this topic.
But not washing clothes, especially sports bras? Bleurgh. I'm rather endowed in this area and my bra is usually in a worse state than my pants. The thought of not washing it makes me feel itchy.0 -
Compression shors or... well ya know.. it's been said like tree times above me xD0

I cannot believe how many people are going commando at the gym. I seriously sweat too much for that and need another layer to contain it. Not to mention that my wobbly bits aren't generally content with compression shorts. I wear granny panties. Thongs cut off my circulation, boy shorts fall down. Hipsters are ok in a pinch, but more likely than not I am rocking some big girl briefs under my workout clothes. And, no, I don't go to the gym to look good, but if I feel like if I am not comfy people might stare at me and it throws me off. I had braces on my legs when I was little and people made fun of me in gym class, and I am still very self-conscious about it.0

Who wears panties with workout pants? You can buy the kind that you don't need any. No lines, no ride up, no show. It's all good :-)0

Today I learned that some people don't wear underwear to the gym and I am deeply disturbed0

NONE! and I'm pretty sure that's why most workout bottoms have liners in them....0 -
underarmour and I believe it is champion have no show, no ride, moisture wicking, panties they come in boy cut, bikini and thong.
I like having that extra layer between me and whatever might be on the gym equipment.0 -

I haven't had a UTI since I was in HS. And I wear shorts that come with a built in liner or I wear nothing at all. I've never had an issue.0 -
It's actually recommended you DON'T wear any type of underwear under cycling shorts. I mean actual cycling shorts, not spandex that you buy and call cycling shorts. Then again, even if I'm only going to go ride in my normal shorts I won't wear underwear either.
I never wear underwear for my workouts, either. They're uncomfortable. If I'm doing an intense leg workout they ride up in places you don't want them sticking.0 -

I'm mostly confused at how people think that this ISN"T happening.0 -

people who like to? not everyone jumps at the chance to leave their underwear home.
i have never had panties ride up and idgaf if i have a panty line in the gym because im there to get work done.0 -
I hate wedgie... so I'm a thong girl. Cannot stand going underwear-less... not at the gym at least! lol0

It never occurred to me to wear underwear while working out. The only time I do is when it's my TOM and it drives me a little batty. If I could get away with not wearing socks, I would, but seeing as I don't want blisters they are a must. I might reevaluate this when I start going to the gym again, but as of now underwear aren't a must for me.0 -
I do exercise classes. I see things, things that make me feel very happy I wear underwear under my workout clothes.
If your yoga pants split while you are in down dog, you and everyone else around you will be happy it's just your underwear showing.
If your yoga pants are surprisingly see-through when stretched and you don't know because you can't see your own hiney, again, underwear to the rescue.
I try not to look, but some things you can't not see.0 -
Maybe this is because I am a really big girl, but how in the heck do yall go without underwear???? I would feel so naked! and if by some crazy turn of events your pants should split....ummm your bum would be hanging out. I like snug hi-cuts by the way. I do not do cycling much because it hurts my tushy, but I do alot of walking! They do not ride up. Good luck!0

My favorite are under armor panties! they feel great under my shorts!0

Absolutely not a thong...0

I tried going comando, but there are seams in my compression pants that make it impossible...but I need something that wicks the moisture away, as I seem to end up almost with diaper rash (sorry if tmi!!).
Ex officio is technical underwear. Synthetic, wicking and seamless. I got a pair for an obstacle course race and they are swell. Bought them at r.e.I. All cuts were available.

hahaha oh my goodness what have I started here?!
thanks everyone - I think I kind of agree about the not-going-commando at the gym thing - will definitely be wiping the machines down before I use them now though!!0 -
Wow. There are a lot of different responses here. I just wear whatever underpants. Typically bikini. They are the best bet for staying out of my *kitten* crack. Forget thongs, boy shorts or anything like that. Also forget commando. I don't sweat much when I train so I don't wash my shorts every time. They usually have chalk on them but whatever. Also, I predominantly train at home and go braless.0
