I'm on my second day today and tomorrow will be my fast day,
just wondering if anyone is on this diet, if you are can you share the results?
Oh and there's a question, if you only can eat 500cal a day
Does it still counts if you exercise and still eat that extra 500?
Welcome to join me if you like ~

Welcome to intermittent fasting! It's pretty awesome.0 -
I do a 20 hour fast every day. Combination of intermittent fasting and one meal a day. I don't really understand the 5:2 diet. But feel free to add me!0

I have done the 5:2 diet for two months. you are not supposed to add extra calories for your exercise when you do the fasts. If you do exercise, its probably a good idea to do an easier less intense workout but its a not a bad idea to do something because you will burn fat for sure. yes you will get pretty hungry though as you will run down your glycogen stores.
But hey even if you only eat 1000 calories on a fast day its a significant calorie deficit so its not a waste. However if you eat back that deficit over the course of a week, you've sort of wasted the effort.
So try to eat only 500 calories. My tips re that are
1. Eat low carb food only or vegetables and low calorie meat like fish or other lean meat and keep fat to a minimum - i.e. just for flavour. I used to make a fish and vegetable stew such as you find in spanish cuisine which was great.
2. Eat meals not snacks
3. Don't eat early in the day. Delay your first meal as long as you can without feeling painfully hungry.
4. Drink plenty of water and if you get a headache, eat some salty soup such as miso. Your headache should pass virtually immediately.
5. Don't drink alcohol or fruit juice. Tea and coffee are fine. I even drink mine with full cream milk because that keeps me going but you still have to count the calories.
6. Go to bed early to help reduce the experience of hunger. You will wake up feeling pretty great i think. some people find it hard to go to sleep when they are hungry. If that happens i think its because they are too hungry. So have something low calorie just to take the edge off your hunger and go back to bed. Don't eat things like toast or cereal on a fast day. Avoid sugar completely. Basically vegetables, chicken or fish are the best foods for fast days and a just enough olive oil to make your food palatable.0
