You sure you have the flu, and not a bad cold? When I have a bad cold, I continue to eat, and do so out of boredom. In the rare occasions when I have had a true flu (and not a bogus "man flu"), I can't keep anything down/in, so I shed weight and if I'm not careful, get dehydrated.
In any event, whether cold or flu, getting healthy again takes precedence over temporary weight gain/loss.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but if you're only off work for a couple if days, you dont have the flu. Influenza makes you feel like you've been hit by a truck. You have a fever and are EXHAUSTED. People with the flu will sleep 12+ hours a day and generally have little to no appetite. good thing, because they're too wiped out to get out of bed to feed themselves. And are off work for about two weeks, not two days.

And for those that talk about puking, that's not influenza either, despite people calling it "stomach flu." You have some type of gastroenteritis, not the flu. Flu causes cough, headache, fever, and muscle/bone pain. Very rarely does vomiting occur with influenza.
