Geez, what kind of blender is it? If it's fascinating enough for a whole infomer...I mean, documentary, then it must be some kind of awesome!

It's an enchanted money-making blender. Wish I had found it first though :/

I see. So fruit and veggies go in... whiz bang boom...money comes out?

Doesn't it sound like a Western? With lots of guns and tumbleweeds?

It's about chubby cowboys, trying to protect their herd from cattle thieves so that they can go low carb, high protein.
  • I'll just add that juicing is really expensive. Now, no one loves a good Jugo Verde as much as I do, but juicing isn't an answer for weight loss for me. Costs too much and I actually like the way fruits and vegetables taste. Plus, I need some sort of fat to fill me up, and nothing is better than butter on broccoli or olive oil on salad or cheese on spinach, etc. Fruit and vegetable juices are great and can make a meal really special or make a nice in-between meal filler, but they are not meal replacements, at least for me.

I think people are missing the point, it's not about living on fruit juice only but about a shock treatment for unhealthy people who are going to die early if they don't change their lifestyles dramatically.

The juice fast is a fast track way to being healthy and detoxing the body from all the rubbish people eat to become obese.

    But hey whatever !

    Detoxing...err....No.
    Hey MFPers.

With the rapid increase of new users there are many posts coming up asking for detox recommendations. I figured this would be a good time to provide some links explaining why you generally don't need to detox or cleanse.

Your body is readily equipped to handle toxins and in the event it cannot, you're in far greater need of medical attention than you are of any particular beverage or liquid diet.

For purposes of weight loss, you're essentially choosing to replace food with liquid calories (depending on the cleanse, but most fall under this category) resulting in what usually amounts to a VLCD. This isn't typically a good idea for a variety of reasons (mood, hunger signaling, skeletal muscle maintenance, performance) and moreover it represents yet another short-cut attempt rather than establishing proper habits.

The intent of my post isn't to insult anyone who comes here with the misinformed belief that they should detox/cleanse. The purpose is to provide information to hopefully save someone the wasted time, money, and potential ill health effects, not to mention the likely weight regain.

What if someone eats a calorie surplus of steamed chicken breast and broccoli to become obese? Quite a conundrum, eh?

I'd also like to see someone try and name the specific toxins, but we all know that never happens around here. We bypass that and make a mean people post, never to be seen again :)

We actually ingest lots of toxins, but to be fair our liver, kidneys and lunges do a pretty good job keeping them in check. lol

It's about an obese man who adopts a temporary nutritionally devoid diet and then tells everybody about it. Very uplifting.

I didn't care for it, it was basically a documentary encouraging a juice fast. I've never been a fan of fasting, I prefer to just have a normal calorie reduction. It's good that it helped a few of those people jump start a healthier lifestyle but it wasn't a long term solution for them.

That's true, but just look on the positive, If you can pay good money for a product to do it, just think how much longer your liver, kidneys and lunges will last not having to deal with that *kitten*!
