    frozen--veggie burgers, mixed veggies, fruits for smoothies, pantry--brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat noodles and jars of red sauce, dry black beans and pinto beans (for in the crockpot), baking stuff, crackers, cereal, fridge--yogurt, sliced and shredded cheese, tortillas, bread, eggs, soy milk, veggies (besides the ones for us, we have two rabbits, so there are always rabbit veggies).

    You've got a lot of staples in your home! Since it is just me and my fiance, I don't keep a lot of food at one time, but always have the staples I listed above. I was thinking of making sweet potatoes a regular staple, but do not like to eat them plain. How do you incorporate them into your diet?

    I eat them plain or I roast them in olive oil. I also melt marshmallows on one sometimes!

    I typically slice my sweet potatoes into mini wedges. I use a sprinkle of Cinnamon, Paprika, pepper in olive oil.

    • White potatoes. Everybody bangs on about sweet potatoes, but a good baked potato will fill you up like nothing else
    • Salsa/canned tomatoes. I like salsa in place of salad dressing, and I'm not above dumping a can of Rotel in with cooked broccoli, kale, or anything else I'm not quite into eating on itself.
    • Tea! Good for when you're bored-hungry
    • Garbanzo beans for salads
    • Green beans. They've always been my favorite veggie, even before I knew they were "cheap"
    • Oatmeal and eggs. I don't eat breakfast, but I do love breakfast food.
    • Fruits and veggies on sale/in season
    • There's always some little treat that I parcel out to myself in little portions. Right now, Snicker's minis.

    • Fresh veggies (spinach/kale/romaine, english or armenian cucumber, red bell pepper, asparagus, carrots, white and green onion, brussel sprouts, sweet and white potatoes, squash, avocados, mushrooms, tomatoes, mixed sprouts (I sprout a batch or 2 each week a mixture of alfalfa, brocolli, clover and red radish seeds))
    • Fresh fruit (apples, clementines, red grapes, bananas, raspberries and strawberries)
    • Frozen fruit (pineapple, peaches, blueberries, raspberries)
    • Trader Joe's sodium free albacore
    • Roasted, unsalted nuts (pecans, cashews, walnuts, brazil nuts, stored in freezer)
    • Condiments (deli and yellow mustards, mayo, tzatziki, salsa, guacamole, cream cheese)
    • Alvarado Street sprouted grain bread, bagels, english muffins
    • Hot cereal (old fasioned and steel cut oats, multi-grain mixes, etc.)
