This is why I lick everything before I use it. I like to exercise my immune system alongside my muscles.0 -

I feel better now. I hardly ever wipe down the equipment before I use it but always wipe it down after. I don't see too many people wiping down so maybe I am exercising my immune system too.
One thing sort of related, I do try to dry off the laminated lifting platforms before I lift. I just have this fear of smooth laminate, sweat, and slipping.0 -
I sweat pretty good when superseting so I'll wipe down stuff after I get off. I leave a good sweat spot where my head used to be. I don't really care 90% of the time about wiping before but some have a pretty good funk going on and I don't need that on me. So then I'll wipe befor lifting.0

In my gym there are signs everywhere to please wipe down the equipment and there are plenty of paper towels and disinfectant provided.0

Yes please! It's a bit grim going to sit on equipment and there being a lovely sweat patch on it0

Good way to catch ringworm. Wipe down your equipment before and after0

BTW - thanks for asking!0

Please! It's disgusting to sit down at a machine that is still gunky from the previous user.0

Yes, please - even if sweat remnants don't bother you, it really oogs out some other members and it only takes a minute.0

I know you've got an ton of yes replies but here's a more scientific reason for why you should definitely wipe down the machines.
You can transmit a variety of infections: staph, e.coli, strep etc from gym equipment.
I'm not sure if mfp sensors links but if not here's a source for more info:

Wipe down before you use. I watch some get off machines and not woe so I go proactive. Wipe first0

I dunno. I mean, what could possibly go wrong if you use equipment covered in dozens, maybe hundreds of other peoples bodily fluids?0
