Calvin does tend to go to dark places. I'll be hiding with Hobbes.

One of the greatest days of my life was when I introduced Calvin and Hobbes to my then 10 (now almost 12) year old son. He LOVES the strip and has taken on my collection of C&H books as his own. #parentingdoneright4

My kids love Calvin & Hobbes... and they love kicking dirt...

This strip contains one of the most pirated images of Calvin of all time...
Seriously, how many of us haven't seen this somewhere?

My favorite Calvin & Hobbes quote of all time, and I don't have the strip - Calvin was imitating his father: "Calvin, go do something you hate. Being miserable builds character!" I use that. Like, all the time at work!4

Okay, the voice was a little funny...

I like how Calvin takes the entire cookie container... do nothing by half-measure...

It seems a bit early to be out of school? Shhh...

Kids got out of school early this year in Florida...Memorial Day weekend (last weekend in May) started their summer vacation. But they were whining back in the fall, because they had to go back to school early last year. (I have a teacher friend, and as much as she was whining, I'm sure the kids were worse...or at least I hope they were.)

Perhaps one day frogs will rule the universe?

The flying carpet story arc was published in June of 1987, five years before Disney released their animated classic Aladdin. It takes about five years to make an animated movie, end to end. Coincidence?

I'm glad Calvin stopped at 10,000 feet. Much higher and they would require oxygen and/or pressurization.

The reaction by Calvin's mother is classic....3 -
There's more to life than resale value...

It begs the question... how does Calvin (age 6) know the building where his dad works? At age 6, although I was precocious, I'm told I still put occasionally put my shoes on the wrong feet.

Given Watterson's stance on pollution etc., I'm surprised he didn't make a remark about smog...

I wonder why Calvin didn't knock on the window?

I've never been able to make the snow stay packable... it always hardened into ice...

One of the few Calvin & Hobbes strips where a date is mentioned... 1988... wow...

He almost got away with it...

Not to suggest that Calvin is a gifted manipulator but wow!
