Best saying your mom ever said to you

"I told you! No wire hangers, ever!"
 Great movie0 -
"Wait till your father gets home." To which I would be whimpering in the corner when he got home. Then it was, "You want me to give you something to cry about?"
Ahhhh...childhood memories.0 -
"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all..........................." Love you mum0

In 5 years, everything will be different in your life....she was so right. But shhhh don't tell her that!0

My mom has always said these two things, that have turned out to be so true in life.
"Time will heal all wounds, but it will wound all heels. Don't run from your problems, because you'll never get away from them."
"When you hit rock bottom, stop digging!"
Both of these sayings never made sense until now. She's an incredible lady, and now I realize that she's always tried to teach us to just stand up and face the world!0 -
"Get your butt outta my life and stay out forever".
Best thing ever,0 -
"Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part"0
-
I could fill up pages of the awesome stuff my mom has said that kept me going.
The one that always works: This too shall pass.0 -
"Go outside and play"0
-
Tell me what you want.....and I will tell you how you can live without it0

My parents taught me:
You don't get your meat where you get your potatoes.
The only thing that makes something worse is lying about it.
You're only as good as your word.
A penny saved is a penny earned.0 -
This one always stuck with me - when I was learning to drive:
"While you technically have the right of way... that doesn't matter if you're dead."
Sometimes being technically right isn't worth it. This has a lot of applications outside of driving, too.0 -

YES! My dad says that one, too. So right.0 -
Not my mom, but my 100 year old grandmother told me "Never tell a man what he can and can't do. Just make sure he understands that you can do whatever he does ten times worst. He wants a night off with his friends? That's fine. You go to Vegas for a week with yours."
^^ bahaha!! i friggin' love this!! i might just take this advice ; )0 -
"Excuses are like *kitten* everyone has one."0

My grandmother once said "Well **** fire and save damn matches!"
We're southern. LOL!
Oh... and "shotgun boogie".

"Kids wash"
My mom had a habit of encouraging me and other kids to play in mud puddles, Piles of Leaves, dirt, even jumping in lakes. When someone would comment on why she was letting us play in mud, she always would causally reply "They wash" . And if the kid she was telling to play in puddles didn't want to play in the puddle, she would.0 -
My mom gave me good advice but it's my Dad who I will quote here. At 16 I heard this over and over again when I was doing whatever because I thought I was grown. "A fool is doomed to repeat." LOL Thanks DAD0

MY Dad always said to me, when I would think it was too late to do something: "How old will you be if you don't do it?"0

I WISH the folks in Walmart had your mom:laugh:0 -
My mom was all about positive attitudes she would always say: "what you believe is what you achieve" and "you can do anything you put your mind to" I’m probably the only kid who at age 8 knew who Zig Zigler was and could quote him.
"A way to a man’s heart is thru his stomach" and boy is my husband thankful she taught me that!
My dad on the other hand was country and if we asked him, “What’s that fer?” (fer = for) he’d say, Cat FUR to make a pair of kitten britches you want a pair. it took me years to actually stop & realize what he was saying! :noway:0 -
THIS IS ONE CHRISTMAS YOU'LL NEVER FORGET (beat beat beat hit beat)0

"We'll see..." It always meant yes, so I loved to hear it!
LOL I say that to my kids all the time, and 80% of the time it means yes0
