Unexpected results of weight loss

One strange thing: before I started losing weight, I never really noticed what other people looked like. Now that I've lost some (and I still have a long way to go) I really notice other people who are fat. Not in a judgmental way, but I think I used to use other people to "normalize" my own weight. As in "I'm not fat, I'm just like everybody else around me!" It was a way of letting me ignore my own problem.21

Wow, that's HUGE! I'm pretty sure that's one of the symptoms of pre-diabetes!!12 -

I have bones.... that freaked me out. Having a shower and I thought what the hell is that boney lump below my boobs. Turns out it was my sternum! Similar thing lately.. turned over in bed and pulled my pj top down and could feel ribs. I think I had bones when I was a kid, but that was like 45+ years ago.15

This has happened to me too, though I'd chalk it up to a side effect of me paying more attention to my own body then wondering what's going on in theirs, as opposed to using it to normalise myself. Like when I got to a certain point in weight loss and started to lose my butt (*kitten*!) then that had me thinking about the butts of those around me Or when I ate something that didn't agree with me (a rarer and therefore more noticeable condition these days since I eat less junk) then I wonder if anybody else's distended belly is caused by the gurgles and/or inflammation of poor eating habits or if it's caused by something else. Everything body related I'd just pushed to the back of my mind before, so I wasn't thinking about it for myself or the general public.3 -

The same thing happened to me the first time I felt my hip bone! We were lying in bed and I was like omg, what the HECK is that?! I made my SO feel and when he did he was like girl, that is your hip bone. LOL.7 -
Unexpected results of weight loss- all the criticism from "friends and family" who were quick to say things like.. you look too thin now or your face just don't look right anymore. I've since lost my way and added back a few pounds too many but I'm looking forward to hearing the comments again.13

I feel young again. Almost like? was I really overweight for 8 years! it is like saying hello to an old friend.. hello old face! hello old body! No, not perfect..but just good ole me. i thought i'd never ever look like my old self again, that too much time had passed. It is amazing and so worth it all.
So what did you do differently now?

The last couple (honestly more like 3-4) of months I have been horribly with a f-it attitude. Just didn't care. In the last couple of weeks I've started making minor efforts again. my last couple of periods I have had more/swings mood swings, headaches, cramps, and the normal symptoms associated with it than I ever had when I ate that bad before because my body is reacting negatively to the large amounts of crap I have been shoving down my throat. It kind of actually helps as it is further motivation to keep trying to make good choices and improve my health again.7

Does anybody else have like, a double bum effect going on? I've got my nice, new muscular butt up top, and my sad old flat bum below. Its making it kind of annoying to wear jeans hahaha12

Constantly having to raid my 14 year old's closet and drawers to find my clothing that has suddenly gone missing.12

I totally understand this! I was just joking with my husband the other day that my butt has a butt because the lose skin has gathered right below it. It's especially noticeable while wearing stretchy spandex workout pants. I just figure they're my victory flags for losing all that weight!16 -

Putting the tray table down on a plane and it NOT resting on my belly! No more seatbelt extenders either! I fit in a restaurant booth, and finally, I can see my toes when I look straight down!21
