Scale question...

Hey guys. I'm new here (again - been at this two previous times). I recently bought a new scale, an Orezi ZB21-W, and I've had a CVS brand one for about 4 years. I'm starting a new DietBet in 2 days and I weighed in on my Orezi, and I came in at 182.4. My CVS brand had me weighing in at 186 a couple of days ago, so I weighed myself on that one too just because I was skeptical of my weight being almost 4 lbs lighter, and I weighed at 185.4. Three lb difference.

My question would be - which do you think is accurate? Which one should I use? Thanks in advance!

Use whichever one you want, but be consistent. If you want to use the CVS one, use it and only it. If you want to use the new one, use it and only it.

The only way to know for sure is to find something that is a known weight (like a 10 pound dumbell) and weigh that. But as xcalygrl said, it really doesn't matter as long as you're consistent. Pick one scale and use only that going forward.

Weighed a handweight - the new one is accurate. Thanks ladies. Chucking the old one!

My fitbit Aria scale started acting flaky so I bought a second identical one. I put them both in the same spot on the floor and weighed myself on each several times. The old one was always 2-4 pounds heavier than the new one, even with fresh batteries. Its possible your old scale is just "off" and needs calibrated after so much time.

Like Minnie said, take a dumbbell or something with a known weight and weigh it on both and see which is right. Or just always use the same one and dont worry about it (though expect when you go to the doctor or something to be a little different - no matter what scale you use!).

make sure your scale is on flat floor and your feet are positioned in the same spots every time.
