hey guys,
My name is josh I'm a 25 year old male who was struggling just like everyone else with weight loss. I was weighing in at 250lbs! I needed to take action and now I am weighing in at 218.2 as of today. That's a 32lb weight loss over 6months! I stay active and gym 5 days a week with only 30minute cardio workout. If you can't spare 30 minutes of your day you're not motivated to lose your weight! Any questions on how I was able to do this message me. I'm willing to help anyone

"Listen, the majority of you don't make a living from how your body looks. You have real distractions and that enters into all of how you approach your physique goals. There will be times, maybe days in row where you lack enthusiasm to follow your program. It happens – people always have real life to contend with as well. When it feels like a chore every day to go to the gym - NOW – that is the most important time to get out and “just do it”. In real life, consistency is more important than intensity. You can’t rely on “motivation” all the time. That’s a fool’s game, that you will always lose. Remember, often life dictates that you are better off trying to get a base hit, than to swing hard for a home run. If you have to dial it back to get it done - as in "active recovery" then do so. Pay attention to your biofeedback. It is always telling you the truth!"

Hey Scott,
It's not a chore to go to the gym after a few weeks you turn that "chore" into a life style. This way it becomes a long term thing and not just a workout. You go on a diet which also turns into a life style now you're making better eating decisions. If you are not in love with yourself then get to the point where you are in love. Don't do it for anyone else do it for yourself!0 -
You definitely sound like you want to be helpful, but you are also coming off as sort of a sales person. I'm sure some people will appreciate the offer. I just wanted to point you in the direction of the community guidelines just in case you do happen to have something to sell (more specifically #14).

Also, you may find that strength training in addition to your cardio is very helpful for fat loss and body composition.0 -
I'm just an average guy trying to help people out. I battled weight my whole life and finally got it under control. I'm not here selling any products or promoting anything, but a healthier life style.0

Maybe instead of encouraging people to message you, you can use this post to tell people all about what you've done. That way people can get passive help instead of active help.0 -
I'm allowing members to message me because some people may not like to post on how they feel. Maybe some members like the privacy? I see your point usmcmp, I know how people need a little more drive on there goals no one helped me out, but myself and I'm just trying to give a hand to a person in need.0

You are a new member who has only posted on this thread. Your food diary is closed and you haven't really told us much about yourself other than you've lost weight and done cardio. There are many members like myself on here who have been here for years, have posted success stories, have open diaries and offer to answer questions by PM.
I think you'll probably have better success if you establish yourself on the boards and share your knowledge openly. Don't worry, if people really are motivated by your success or have questions they'll send a PM. Tell us about you on here and post some pictures to show your success.0 -
*sniff* Do anyone else smell that? I can't tell if it's advocare shakes or essential oils....maybe it's beachbody supplements?0

Your profile says you lost 12 pounds and have 8 pounds to go....How is that 32lbs?
Cardio? for 30 mins a day? That's it?
Weightloss doesn't come from a gym. Health and wellenss comes for Exercising.
More than cario is needed. Resistance training of some sort.
Losing weight = CI<CO eat less than you burn - Simple thought, not so simple to put into practice.
What your trying to sell.....I'm not buying.
Solid first post bro.0 -

You guuuuyyyysssss... if you don't want to buy what he's selling (ha!), then don't PM him. You don't have to poke holes in his success or try to bring him down! I'm curious what your 30 minute cardio is - some kind of HITT training like Insanity?0

When I joined my fitness app I was at the weight of 224. I have before and after pictures, like I said above I am not here to sell anything. Poke around all you want I'm just here to help out. I do the elliptical training for 30minutes a day. I only eat around 1,500-1,800 calories a day.0

You should probably eat more than that and lift weights. Under eating results in a variety of metabolic adaptations that make it harder to lose weight. Strength training is important to preserve lean mass, meaning that more of the weight you lose would come from fat versus fat and muscle.0 -

That's really all you had to say in the first place, if you were trying to get a point across.0 -

I can make myself look like both of those pics today too.
I would recommend picking some weights up and putting them down more often.0 -
My goal weight is 210 usmcmp once I get to where I want to be I will be toning. I'm doing a weight loss right now until 210 and then I will be going on with strength training. As of anyone else if you want to be negative for someone trying to help you can just stay off the post thank you0

So if I don't want to do cardio 30 minutes 5 days a week I'm not motivated?
When I started I couldn't exercise at all.. guess I wasn't motivated .. maybe one day0 -

You should have started strength training in the beginning to help preserve your muscle. It does make a huge difference and there is absolutely no reason to put it off until you get to your goal. It's easier to keep muscle than it is to build it.0 -

I am well aware of that, I'm not looking to bulk lift. I get what you're saying though. I'm going to incorporate strength training in a few weeks into my cardio.0 -

I wasn't saying you were trying to get ripped like a bodybuilder (which is not easy). Diet or diet and cardio result in fat and lean mass loss. Diet and strength training preserves your lean mass, so you lose mostly fat. When losing 50 pounds it's the difference between losing 35 pounds of fat and 45 pounds of fat. You end up with better body composition at the end when you do strength training. Since you are a beginner you may not lose any lean mass at all and may gain a little bit of muscle.0 -
