175-ish ... give or take. Probably squeezed into 'em at 180, but it was a lie.

    6'0", 45 years young.

31" is quite loose now ... and debating trying out a 30". Currently 160, give or take a weigh-in.

Are you guys talking about pant size or actual measurement? I'm curious because I could probably squeeze into a 32 pant size, currently wearing LL Bean 33s, but I know my measured waste size is 36". I'm 173 +/- 2lbs. 53 yo.

my partner wears a 32 and they're 6'1.5 and 175lbs but that's with pretty low bf%. if you've got more body fat, you'll have a larger waist.

I think I hit a 32" waist at around 12 years old. Looking to be at 34 by this Easter.

The last time I had a 32" waist was in grade school and I don't remember what I weighed. I could fit into 34" jeans when I was 190, but I probably shouldn't have dropped to that weight in the first place.

I'm in a 34 now and they fit comfortably. I can tell that I will be able to fit into a 32 eventually.I'm 5 foot 10 and 160 pounds currently.

    Similar here. 5'11, 170ish.

It depends on the "cut" of the pants as well ... some lower-rise-type pants I seem to be able to wear in a smaller size because they sit on my hips differently.

32in waist trousers at around 195lb ish. Probably 200lb would be ok waist wise but my legs are always an issue.

Plus every shop here seems to be on some slim fit kick.
Don't they know about leg day?

At 162lbs, 5'7", 12% BF (32 inch measured, not jean size - 32 jeans are pretty loose)

I'm 5' 8" and when I was in the low 180s my 32 waists were very tight (several pairs didn't even fit). Now in the low 160s most are pretty loose (I'll probably drop to 30w when I hit my goal of 150lbs).

I think height and bf% will also have a lot to do with it. I am 5'6" 148 and wear 29-30, but my waist is 31ish (pants are made big, so are you talking measurements or pant size?) at my heaviest I was still under 32" (153lbs)
In my profile pic my waist would be about 29-29.5" @ about 140lbs

At the end of my last cut my waist measured 28.5", at around 9-10% BF% and 136lbs.

DH fits his 32in waist jeans at 190 or below, he's 6'1" and naturally "athletic built" as the women in the department store like to tell him;)

    OK : pants size.

I have no idea actual waist measurement as I'm not in the habit of measuring regularly. Didn't even know it would be different. Whodathunk a 32 inch waist WASN'T a 32 inch waist, right?

It is really difficult these days with so many styles of pants and Shirts. Modern Fit, Slim Fit and Regular Fit are the 3 I see most often and now that I lost the weight, I like to wear more modern fit/slim fit clothes. So when I try on a pair of regular fit pants (ie Dockers) , I will be a 32 but if I try a slim fit it is 34. I am 49 yrs old, 5'9" and weigh 178-180lbs.
  • I managed to get into 32" pants last year - I am 43, 5'7" tall and I weighed about 175, but I also had a low body fat.

Really depends on the brand and fit. I'm 5'10 and at 168 and mostly I'm wearing 32's.
    - Nautica relaxed jeans are too loose at a 32
    - Affliction and Buffalo jeans fit well in a 32
    - Dockers classic fit are good in a 32
    - Dockers straight fit needs a 33-34

my lowest weight has been 182lbs, and i'm in 34inch waist jeans (UK size). 32 inch are still too tight to feel comfortable. I reckon I need to be at around 170lbs, plus doing more exercise on my midriff.

Is vanity sizing a "thing" for men, too?

It most certainly is! There seems to be an inverse correlation between size accuracy and price as well. As an engineer, it irks me to no end that 32" can mean 38" because... self esteem?

The scale hasn't moved much in the last year (170-180), and I've been wearing 33s for awhile.

Went jeans shopping a couple of weeks ago & the 33s were loose, so I tried on some 32s...and they were a perfect fit!

Granted, I've been getting fit since 2007 (& I was 237lbs & wearing 38-40s!!) so it has taken awhile.

    But, to quote Office Space,

damn it feels good to be a gangsta
