LOL I realized last week that we both forgot to get each other Christmas presents. Like we had presents picked out for each other and just forgot to go out and get them. Fail.

Anyway idk, we don't make a big deal of holidays. Last year we went out to a Szechuan restaurant and had cupcakes from a nice bakery, and he got me flowers. I think he insisted on paying. This year will probably be similar, maybe I will insist on paying this time LOL.

We call it the "Commercialisation of Love Day" and typically just spend our time snuggling. So nothing for the hunny, but I'm getting him something special for our anniversary (which is 11 days before).

I hope she gives me that weekend, in a hotel room, all by myself. It's what I got her last year.

Normally we're not big on Valentine's Day but it's our first as a married couple. There's a bridge in our city nicknamed the Lovelock Bridge (like the one in Paris) where people attach locks with their names engraved on them. I might do that.

My fiance will be working, so we're going to enjoy a nice dinner together before our next college semester starts instead. We don't really exchange gifts - I am making a big photo collage for our bedroom of our engagement pictures for him, but that's mostly for me, let's be honest. :p

But... but there is that 5%. /cry And I got one of them. He remembers birthdays and anniversaries.... of junk I forgot even happened.

    Him: "Happy anniversary"
Me: *blink blink* "We got married on July 4th so I would remember."
Him: <insert random event> "Of the first time I said I love you." "Of the day I moved to Cali" "Of when we decided to get married."
Me: "How do you remember this *kitten*?"

My fiance is more bummed we can't spend it together than I am, so. idk. More like 95% don't care, 4% pretend and 1% do care.

Isn't St.Valentine the patron saint of florists??? or is that just the cynical side of me thinking that?

Some people genuinely care. Quit trying to get it into other people's heads that it's otherwise.

Well, I'm single. And going to a wedding. So my gift to myself is losing weight so that I feel comfortable in the dress I have yet to buy for said wedding.

I was asked to be someone's Christmas gift, but he hasn't asked me to be his Valentine yet...

No no, that's not how you ended up in a Valentine's thread that you care absolutely nothing about. Right right. Ok.

I only came here to discuss Valentines Day of 1929, cause that's what it's all about. Would you care to discuss that?

    1.) He's got a wife.
2.) He acts like he doesn't give a crap about Valentine's day, but given the chance, he would tell his wife he does.
    3.) No.
    4.) I've got someone.
    5.) And still, no.
    6.) Stuff.
    7.) How about no?
