It is important for one reason...that this type of literature is going mainstream. Out of the shadows so to say. I didn't read it, because I don't read that type of stuff anyway.0

Funny that you mention that. It was my SAME feeling about Twilight. The movies were slightly more bearable without the pathetic internal monologue of the female lead.
Amen, Sista! Preach on.. While Bella's constant whining and obsession got annoying really quickly, I was grateful her catchphrase wasn't "Oh My" or "Crap."
Every time I read "oh my" I hear it in the voice of George Takei, so that at least made me laugh and gave the book some value.

if any film should be boycotted by the general public at all it should be this... the only reason it is being made at all is for money, not because it is a worthwhile story to tell

Couldn't have said it better! I forced myself to finish the first book (despite the urge to smash my Nook into 1000 pieces if I had to read the words "inner goddess", "flush", "blush" or "gasp", one more time). Hated that book! Seriously, the guy was creepy. And a stalker. And she whines too much.
Yes! I am not the only one who hated it! I could absolutely not stand the female character. I found her to be weak, whiney, and easily manipulated. I am more into literature that empowers women.0 -
