NUTELLA = EVIL

Ugh have to vent, I had been soooo good for almost a month and today has been sooo sooo bad, I literally have to yank out Nutella from myself because I couldn't get enough of it. I'm blaming it on my AF this month I don't usually like chocolate but my gosh... I had been all over this Nutella for the last 2 days. I'm sooo bloated too - I'm up 3 lbs from my 10lbs lost and I really hope it's from water retention. But I know it's for some of these Nutella too that I just cant stop munching on.

I buy the reduced fat Cresent Roll Pillsbury and cover it with Nutella and bake it, and after baking it, I then dunk the croissant in some more Nutella... I can't get enough of the darn thing. I'm giving it to my brother first thing tomorrow! (I hope)

Try Justin's Natural chocolate hazelnut spread.
It tastes way better than nutella and for 60% less sugar! NOM0 -
I put 2 tbsp in the microwave and eat it like warm pudding now and then. Mmmmmm.0

I have found it a few places-Harris Teeter, Mom's Organic Market...
I'd bet that Whole Foods has it...maybe Giant.
I'd look in the organic section. I got it in the single-serve pouches-perfect for dessert or a recovery snack.0 -
Why would anyone think nutella was a health food? silly people.
Each serving (2 tbsp.) of Nutella contains 200 calories with 100 of those calories being calories from fat. Although Nutella spread does not contain any trans fat it does contain 3.5 grams of saturated fat per serving. If you were eating a diet based on 2,000 calories daily that would be approximately 18% of your fat intake for the entire day. There are 11 grams of total fat per serving.
It should be noted that Nutella nutrition facts show that the spread itself contains a whopping 21 grams of sugar per serving. The first ingredient listed on the packaging is sugar. Remember that the ingredients on food labels are listed in order from most to least. This tells you that the main ingredient in this product is sugar.

How about instead of blaming things on your inability to control yourself, you take responsibility for it? Learn from it!-3

Since I discovered this, I have zero desire to eat Nutella.
This has better texture, better flavor and less than half the sugar. 1 less gram of fat.
Individual packet is perfect for that chocolate craving/sweet tooth... Or for a recovery snack. Nom nom nom nom.0 -

Your point?
Nobody here is touting the miracle heath benefits of Nutella.
However, I don't think it should be demonized and called evil either. It's a calorie dense food typically good for/with a dessert or breakfast or snack. Nothing more, nothing less. Make it fit into your calorie/macros and move on.0 -

That sounds fantastic. I don't have nutella in my apartment, just get it from my breakfast place. I could see it being addicting in this case.0 -
If you put it in the fridge, it completely congeals--it is fat, sugar and not a lot more.
I find it completely disgusting.0 -

I usually ignore my fat intake. Is it even important? I've been eating nutella crepes for years now and have stayed skinny. It's fine in moderation.0 -

It's arguable that it tastes better. It's very close calories-wise too. I do like it a lot, but sometimes, I just want Nutella (but I grew up with it I guess so I don't tend to go overboard with it sometimes).0 -
Lack of self control does not make a food evil. Yes, Nutella is high in fat and sugar but it you eat it in small amounts occasionally it's not that harmful, maybe even better than some other foods I can think of.0

i've never tried hazelnut spreads, but i heard rumors that they are not as good as nutella.0
