Does anyone else experience a bit of a weight-gain after a day of intense cardio? I notice I gain 2-3 lbs the day after basketball practice.

If so, can someone explain that to me?

Your body is refilling depleted glycogen stores, and with that comes water weight.

Yea I've read that as well. Doesn't your body get used to it at some point and that I shouldn't gain that much weight over time? Or is that just how it's always going to be?

    Thanks for the reply

This is why I only try to weigh in the morning after a rest day.

The body fluctuates in weight even without exercise. Stress, lack of sleep, hormones, sodium, etc. are other factors that affect it.

Good point. I have noticed that I do have the most weight loss after a day or so of recovery. Ok. I feel better now.
