Weight-gain after heavy cardio

Does anyone else experience a bit of a weight-gain after a day of intense cardio? I notice I gain 2-3 lbs the day after basketball practice.
If so, can someone explain that to me?

Your body is refilling depleted glycogen stores, and with that comes water weight.0

This is why I only try to weigh in the morning after a rest day.0

The body fluctuates in weight even without exercise. Stress, lack of sleep, hormones, sodium, etc. are other factors that affect it.

Good point. I have noticed that I do have the most weight loss after a day or so of recovery. Ok. I feel better now.0
