Sliced, no salt, I don't eat the seeds but I do spit them out. I have used salt before and like it but don't usually add it.

Yep. It works for green apples too. The salt makes the flavor more intense. Especially if the fruit isn't quite ripe. It also draws the fluid to the surface. Alton Brown said salt makes food taste more like itself.

Yes, that's true. And I do love a salty/sweet combo. But the idea of putting salt on fruit seems totally weird.

I love strawberries, mangoes, and green apples with salt! :)

This and iterations of it taste good ZERO percent of the time.

Perfectly good waste of watermelon and liqueur.

Sliced if I'm at a picnic or something and cubed if I'm at home. I've never tried with salt but I've heard lemon makes it good too. Seedless! I hate taking time to spit out the seeds! Haha.

    slices or quarters?
    ...
    with or without salt?
    ...
    seeds or seedless?
    ...
with your face or with utensils?
    • Quarters when eating while slicing; cubes if eating afterwards
    • As a little kid, with salt. Teen years forward, no salt
    • Seedless ever since price parity with seeded
    • Face when eating while slicing; utensils if eating afterwards
P.S. The 'base' of my Sunday brunch fruit salad was 16 oz of cubed seedless! Then added other fruit on top. Almost 2# of fruit as my 1st meal of the day yesterday...YUM!

i knew a guy in college who poured salt into his beer before he drank it.

    :noway:

i know. weird. but not uncommon apparently.
