    OMG Taylor not again

Stop overthinking it and see your doctor

Glad someone else said it as the first post.

Stop assuming your hormones are out of wack because you are not getting the results you want. You need to see a doctor before you do unrepairable damage to your body.

Do your homework on who Dr Hyman is before you cut him down. As for this kid, if you don't like what he's searching for, ignore his post. He does not need to be insulted or talked down to by a bunch of people.

Why don't YOU do your homework and realize that Dr. Hyman is irrelevant to this poster's needs. You can flag me, but you can't make me (and the other posters you flagged) wrong. This is not the first thread along these lines.

Taylor, you do not deserve to be tortured by the thought that your hormones are betraying you. Please discuss your physical concerns with your therapist as well as your MD.

Flagging is because the kid does not need to be talked down to. He is talking to a therapist and has issues that he's dealing with. There are a lot of people who are insulting on here and it needs to stop. And educate yourself, be a postive voice. How many kids do we hear about who are on the fence and get bullied on the internet?

I am sorry, but no. Nothing that has been said is bullying. Not even slightly.

As for why so many people's posts seem so negative, we have heard this song and seen this dance from the OP many times before. If you look back in his posting history, it is clear he has an issue with food.

Honestly, sending him to read a resource that may support his issues with food is irresponsible.

I was not talking about your post. I thought you were very proper. But others seem to be insulting in dismissing his thoughts. All I am saying, is there is no need for that. "Oh God , you again" is a very demeaning thing to say to the man!

I categorically did not say 'Oh God, you again" I said "OMG Taylor not again" .. because we have a history (you might not be aware of it but Taylor is)

Taylor will be the first to admit that he has obsessive issues with this kind of spurious internet information and research and very real needs that cannot be met through internet posts .. whether well-meaning advice or not.

Each thread he starts along these lines always result in him accepting his issues and speaking to his medical advisors

He is not an overweight man .. he has a perfectly decent frame, but his mental illness is letting him down

Why I'm explaining myself to you I don't know.

Taylor knows what he needs to do.. he needs to speak to his Psychiatrist and continue to get better.

Hey Taylor, I know what you mean. Check out a blog by a guy named Dr Mark Hyman. He breaks down how cortisol affects metabolism and weight loss. I just got turned on to him and don't have it down packed but he seems pretty cool. He has written books and has a line of vitamins on the market as well. Good luck in your search.

Or don't do this. Because he's an idiot.
    + Plus a trillion. Hyman's a total wackaloon.

You need to see your MD. The only way to truly tell if you have elevated cortisol is with a blood test AND a 24-hour urine collection by an endocrinologist. If the blood test comes back elevated, the urine test will tell which type of cortisol is elevated (free or attached). I know, I've had to do both tests due to high cortisol. It hasn't hindered my weight loss. I do carry a bit more in my stomach 'pooch' and that might be why, but there's no reason you can't lose weight with high cortisol.

It's still not a reason to flag. If you're concerned, you should report it and the mods will assess. Incorrectly using the flags can earn you your own warning (and continued abuse of the system can lead to being banned).
