MFP Exercise vs Fitbit Steps

I use the Gazelle Edge Glider elliptical machine and apparently Fitbit counts that as steps and calculates the steps towards my calorie count.
QUESTION: In MFP app, should I also enter "elliptical" exercise manually including the minutes which the MFP asks for?
If I do enter it manually in MFP, would the same calories be counted twice?

If your fitbit is linked to your MFP and you enter the cardio in MFP along with the start time / duration MFP/FB will remove the data the fitbit recorded and use what you put in for that time period, so you won't double-book the exercise.0

Ok thanks. That really helps. That's been on my mind forever.0
