heart rate monitor problems

Hi i want to know what could be the problem my monitor is working back wards saying when I walk the rate is 100+ but when I do hard cardio the rate drops to 40. my resting isn't even that low??? what could it be as this is messing up my kcal reading.

Mine was doing that for a while. Trying making it tighter so it has greater contact with your skin. I did that and now it works fine.0

That'll do it sometimes. Also, wet the contacts on the strap where it contacts your skin. You can also try electrode gel for this, the stuff they use for sonograms. Make sure your battery isn't too old, sometimes that will do it.
If nothing else helps you may eventually need a new strap. (I've been struggling with these things for years.)
