I just had a peek at the diary. Do you really eat your cereal dry?0
-
Aviva, do you eat your cereal straight, dry, nothing added? It does blow my mind....0
-
That being said, I might make an evening snack of cheerios, peanuts, and raisins.0

Hah, I totally agree with you. If you eaten enough good food, indulge yourself. Especially if your trying to gain weight. Exceeding your calorie intake isn't going to ruin anything.
the point.
you missed it.
Man this app is pretty *kitten*. So much negativity.
I don't understand anything at all about gaining weight, probably why I'm 99 pounds. just looking for help in general. Not looking to sign on to the app and find comments from people like you.
Thanks a bunch.
There is nothing negative about my post.
I'm simply pointing out the straight forward- and not emotional fact that you completely and utterly missed TavistockToad's point. When gaining its' not about "indulging" yourself.
It's about meeting the end goal of hitting a calorie surplus.
You can eat as "healthily" as you like- till the cows come home. But if you fail to meet a calorie surplus- you will never gain weight.
"indulging" is not the same as adding in calorie high foods to met a goal.
My point stands- you missed entirely the point of his comment.
I don't know what all this "health" talk means. Surplus? Wtf does that mean? Am I going to a store? No. Gtfo.
A calorie surplus is how a person gains weight. You said you want info on how to gain weight. People are telling you. Why are you getting angry?0 -
findingrabbit wrote: »I don't get the comments about eating healthy. You guys say, "who cares what you eat, you need the calories. Eat cake!"
But shouldn't you watch what you put in your body? Obviously cake or other goodies are fine once in a while, but you don't want your body to constantly run off of junk.
Everything in moderation I suppose. I also have a problem with being appetized in general. I could be starving, but no food looks good to eat..
I also eat more in the summer, as I'm doing more. Biking, gardening, walking the dogs ect.. In the winter months I find it harder to eat, as I'm not doing to much.
So I try to do things that make me want to eat, cleaning the house, shovelling snow.. But I just find it hard.
It's all about finding a happy medium, and what works for you. And really pushing yourself towards a goal.
*sorry if I offended anyone about my "all girls want to be thin" comment. Obviously a huge generalization about girls. And NOT all girls want to be a twig, but there is a majority of girls out there that desire to be thin. Check out the "TalkLife" app, 85% of posts on there are girls helping girls get thinner. Or go on Tumblr, and check out "Thinspiration", there's a variety of photos to get you inspired to starve yourself!
Anyway, not trying to start a fight.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
@findingrabbit You are going to have an extremely hard time eating in a calorie surplus (which is needed to gain weight) only eating foods that are viewed as "healthy" because they are often low in calories.
Eating foods that get placed in the "unhealthy" category like cookies, cake, muffins, milkshakes, ice cream, pizza, etc., will help you reach your calorie goal.
I am assuming you enjoy those foods so it will also keep your sanity during your weight gain/fitness journey.0 -

Go look at her diary.
Ah. I see she has no problem eating pizza and donuts and Taco Bell… and few to no fruits and veggies
Not to mention the lack of protein and fat in her diet.
ETA: I'm curious about the digestive cookies...0 -

I used to eat cereal dry frequently- but only certain types- mostly stuff like frosted flakes- or special K- it's just the right amount of sweet and crunch.
Grapenuts must be soaked properly though.0 -

And grapenuts would break your teeth without the appropriate amount of milk (it's actually phenomenal with a dash of half and half added to the milk).
ETA: This is the bulking section, eat all your cereal with half and half. It's amazing.0 -
No, it is not. I was a whopping 95-97 lbs at 5'3". I was AND looked perfectly healthy. [/quote]
I question that....it sounds way way too small to me!0
