Hello all!
I am middle-aged & have Hashimoto's disease & have 40 lbs to lose! It's not coming off easily, and I'm also a computer web designer & marketer - so too sedentary right now. I have recently stopped smoking, though, and was naturally thin when younger, so hopefully I will learn to manage my diet - never done that before. Good luck to you all !!!!!!!!!!

Welcome and good luck. It can be done but it will be harder. You will have to be very diligent with your logging and weigh your foods on a food scale for accuracy. Just accept that you won't lose weight like the biggest loser folks but that very day you are making your body healthier. Take pictures and measurements now so you have something to look at to see your progress when that awful scale is mean.

Stormie, you must be my long-lost twin!

Except I have 50 lbs to lose. I also have Hashimoto's, was skinny most of my life, until child bearing, sedentary job, quitting smoking and menopause gradually took their toll.

Would welcome sharing this journey with you!
