I've had to leave a different fitness site because my inbox contained messages that I just brushed off as "they say that to everyone" and my husband was really offended and angry when he saw them. So flirting in my case is not ok. I don't really mind a "you look pretty in that picture" but if it gets any more intense than that, I have to block the person.

Sure sure, I often ask random questions with absolutely no affliation to my own behaviour.

I won't flirt with someone if I know they're in a relationship, and I won't respond if they attempt to flirt with me.

    I trust my wife.

Be warned of one thing...I dont know how much weight each of you has to lose but significant weight loss can be a curse as well as a blessing...When someone loses weight and starts getting attention from the opposite sex that they havent had before, it can go to one's head and lead to issues... I speak from experience. ;)

I know what you mean, still waiting for the opportunity though lol

Emotions can be powerful and unpredictable. What seems to be innocent fun may result in stronger feelings than you were ready for. Flirting if you are trying to attract someone's attention is not the same as just flirting for fun. The two can be hard to tell apart.

    Agree

    this^.

I am a flirt. I tone it down considerably (keep it innocent) when I am in a relationship. single now, but I remember the maddest ANY my ex gf's ever got at me, was when a girl was flirting with me and I wasn't flirting back at all.

Okay, I have to know ... What is the deal with KIK? I've been asked if I have it, and I've heard my daughter say her friends use it. She's 11. Should I be concerned???

Wish I could tell you. I downloaded it and deleted it within an hour.

YES! Be concerned...only because there are some very creepy pedophiles using it and others whose profile pictures are beyond pornographic. Its a messaging app that allows for texting, pic and vid sharing. Alot of ppl use it to "sext"

KIK is a way to message people without giving up your personal information. Kind of like texting but they don't really have your phone number to track you down

Probably not. It's a chat app for mobile devices that allows sending of images and video. While it's use can be completely innocent, some people will send/trade noodz and such. Some parents like to 'trust' their kids, but not my wife and I.....we monitor their online communication. Not so much because our 14yo may be sending junk pics to the girl down the street, but more because of online predators.

Also theres a chat-wheel option on there...thats where you'll see what I'm talking about. Theres no safety feature for children and KIK doesnt save any of your texts/threads so I dont think (dont quote me) anything can be traced once deleted.

Yes be concerned. My kids say it's the median used to send pervy pics to each other without using your cell number. Your daughter is likely using it innocently but I would ask her about it and who her friends are on it. It's no different then snapchat. Send pictures that disappear after a few seconds. Why would you need to do that unless you were sending inappropriate pics.

I created one to use it to respond to my readers for a few stories that I write. Unfortunately though, sometimes people do randomly start talking to you on there.

Oooooh, ok. Well, she doesn't have it herself. She just got a phone and she's closely monitored. I just mentioned to her that someone on here asked me to get it, and she was like, "No, Mom, don't. It's stupid. My friends use it." So I guess she knows. lol I do trust her and she's a smart one, but I know all about temptation so I still want to keep a close eye on her. As for me, I did get the app to see if I could tell if there was something "wrong" with it, but I didn't see anything off. Of course, I guess it's the same with everything, it depends on who's using it. I mean, MFP could be "bad" if someone wanted to send nude pics or whatever. Anything could.

As for the flirting on here, I just don't get it. I'm single so I guess I'm allowed to flirt all I want, but I see some people who flirt outrageously and I'm like, "Where is that going?" It seems pointless to flirt unless you want to get something out of it. Or maybe I'm just lazy! lol I'm not going to waste my time and energy flirting with someone unless I'm going to get something out of it.

Well ... there is one exception, but I don't think you'd really call what we do flirting. It's more like being goofy and playful, nothing serious. Although, honestly, if circumstances were different, I might be obliged to put a little more effort into it. LOL
