LCHF/Keto diet and inflammation?

Has anyone ever tried a Keto or LCHF diet to help with inflammation? I have gradually transitioned my macros to 35/35/30. I seem to be carb sensitive and have noticed many health improvements from increasing protein and reducing carbs. I am wondering if it might be worth giving Keto a try to see if it helps even more. It seems like my current diet would be more sustainable in the long term, but I am very curious about Keto.

I don't do keto but I am LCHF and I've noticed a big improvement in my knees and feet. If you do decide to try keto please come find the low carb group. We're very diverse when it comes to plans but very open and supportive.

Thanks. It seems like LCHF and Keto are very similar. Do you have specific macro goals for LCHF?

Carbs and protein I keep around 20% and fat is set at60%. I tend to go over on fat. Mostly I keep carbs lited to low starch veggies, plain Greek yogurt, and a few berries.

it's how I ended up on LC, and eventually keto. I started with an elimination diet for one issue, then began working on inflammation, and by the time I was done, what I was left with was basically LC with a few exceptions. After some trial and error, I realized doing straight keto was easier than swinging back and forth just to have beans once in a while.

I agree with Sugarbeat... I am doing 60 Fat, 30 Protein, 10 carbs... 1870 caloies. Everything feels better. I call this LCHF.... Not sure if it is exactly.

It is, pretty much anything under 150g qualifies as low carb. It's when you get down to the 20-30 range it's usually keto, but you don't have to be in ketosis to do low carb.

I am borderline LC right now. My carbs are typically around 175g, but net carbs are considerably lower. JPW1990, did you notice steady improvement as your carbs went lower? It sounded like going LC has been a gradual process for you. I started avoiding gluten about 1 1/2 years ago and noticed a huge difference in inflammation in the 1st week. About 6 months ago, I stepped it up a notch further by doing IIFYM at roughly 35/35/30. Most of my carbs now come from veggies, dairy, beans, and a rare piece of fruit. I noticed further improvements, and now I am wondering if I should stick with where I am at, or see if there is added benefit from further reducing carbs.
Cindytw, thanks, I will check out that group.

In some respects, but, it's also not my primary problem. I have been LC for 15 years, and over that time, the combination of meds I've been on has changed more times than I can count. It's hard for me to say whether any drastic changes are because of keto or because of the meds. It hasn't made anything worse, though. That would be a better question to ask in the group cindytw linked, where you can compare notes with people who have just one thing going on.
