My kids love Nutella. I frequently make crepes with Nutella or waffle Nutella sandwiches. Both are really good with sliced strawberries or bannans in them.

Sure it's not broccoli health wise, but there's nothing wrong with it either. Like Cookie Monster says, its a sometimes food.

This is a great article discussing the pros and cons of Nutella by looking at its ingredients. Labeling foods as good or bad may be a false dichotomy but consider her conclusion:

"The bottom line: Why try to make out something is healthy when it’s not? And clearly not, when you look at the true list of Nutella ingredients. Just accept Nutella for the chocolatey treat it is! Have it on toast, croissant or crepes. It’s a good case of clever marketing that highlights the few positives — and says nothing about the bad things."

I didn't read the article, but I agree completely with the synopsis. It's chocolate with a little hazelnut added. The primary ingredient is sugar. It's not going to be high on the list of "healthy foods".

Why not? what's unhealthy about it?

I didn't say it was unhealthy.

Just saying, there was a class action lawsuit that the manufacturers of Nutella lost for advertising it as "healthy".

I love it, but honestly, I have not had any in the 3 years that I have been on MFP. Too calorie dense for me.

    Ha!

I filed a claim under the Nutella lawsuit for some free bucks a few years ago and just got a check for $7.15 today. I plan to spend my well earned money like any honest American should and get me a nice, healthy pint of Talanti, some chocolate, or cookie butter.

Mmmmm, Nutella mixed with Speculoos cookie butter. But I surely wouldn't consider it healthy.

Oh I wish I had known about it... I would have bought more Nutella with it, lol!
