Also, the fibre supplements are actually prescribed to me by my doctor. For chronic constipation. Ain't that the truth...

I'd be willing to guess that you have chronic constipation because you aren't eating enough fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Try eating a bowl of oatmeal once in a while.

I eat 30g of fibre a day. Which come from fruit, vegetables, wholegrains, oats, and beans.

No. That's not necessarily the case.

I have the same problem. I eat a ton of vegetables and fruits. Some people, like me, actually do have chronic constipation issues and it has nothing to do with fiber.

ETA: Oatmeal is a culprit for me.

    I have extremely lazy intestines.

Stop taking the fiber supplements every single day. This is what is making your intestines "lazy". Let your intestines do the work they are meant to do. You have made them "lazy" by supplementing fiber.

You keep mentioning 30g of fiber/day. You are counting the supplements in that 30g, I'd wager.

You should be getting 30g of fiber just from the diet alone.

Increasing fat/oil intake usually helps with chronic constipation, but I don't know if you can ingest enough once you're already significantly backed up to help. Without making yourself nauseated, that is.

Drink as much water as you can stand. Especially with taking fiber supplements. Those things act like cement otherwise.

The suggestions to run are spot on. If it's too uncomfortable to run, then walk. Both help get the intestinal tract moving.

Last suggestion I have is Miralax, if you can get it. It's really effective for most people.

You think I made them lazy? Their lazyness are the reason I take supplements. They were lazy before the supplements. Not because of them. And no I don't count the supplements too. That's the number mfp gives me that I eat daily. I don't log medicine.

I've heard fiber can increase discomfort when you're already backed up. I'd double check with your doctor and see if he/she feels you should continue them once you're "too far in" as you put it or not. They could just make you feel worse, but definitely check with the doctor before changing how you're taking them.

Yes, because you are already gassy and bloated.

If it's really that bad, OP should take a laxative or do a natural enema. I prefer the latter because it works immediately.

Try browsing in a book or record store. Gets me every time.

Oddly enough, when I first started eating at a deficit, I had this problem, too. When I started to reach maintenance and added a few whole eggs and small amounts of bacon to my previously all-white omelet, things started behaving normally again.

I had been hitting my fat macros all along, but apparently those fats in particular were in higher demand than I thought. Weird belleh.

Where's the master peep cleanse when you need it???

I've been backed up for a week now. I'm considering taking a good dose of sugar free gummy bears. Lol (if only that would work for me.)

I can't eat enough anymore without feeling full too quickly. Because stuffed up intestines. Now I know how a Thanksgiving turkey feels...

I'm not reading every reply so I may just be repeating things already said here. But increase vegetable intake (purchase some super greens/complete greens/greens powder from a supplement company can help with this), cranberry juice, other high fibre foods (cocoa, coconut flour, etc), coffee, lots and lots of water - these all help get things...flowing. And just remember, as bad as you feel now, just think how satisfying it's going to feel when it all comes out. I'll just leave you with that thought.

Sounds ,ike a trip too the docs for a script to move all the blockage and introducing lots of fresh fruit and veg. Yoga will help massage the intestines and ,keep them toned and regular. Find a good yoga c,*kitten* and tell the yogi that you would like exercises to help with maintaining good intestinal health. Good luck

This product changed my life, never was backed up again, you are probably deficient in magnesium,, try it, you won't regret it! :)

+1 for Natural Calm. Do not buy the Orange one, it tastes like cr4p.

I'm really falling down on the job here! Sorry, I saw the thread earlier, but memegenerator seems to have been recently blocked at my office (can't imagine why) and I've been in too many meetings to find another site to use. Enough with the *kitten* excuses, though, amirite?

In my professional opinion, this would be an off-label use of the 10 Day Master Peep Cleanse(TM). I review off-label uses in Chapter 174 that begins on page 10,342 of my most recent book, What Is The Best Cleanse Ever And Why Is It The 10 Day Master Peep Cleanse(TM): Everything You Never Knew You Wanted To Know About Consuming Large Amounts Of Sugared Marshmallow Chicken Babies. I'm really excited to announce that Dr. Oz has written the forward, the epilogue, and the entirety of Chapter 16: Incorporating Green Coffee Extract Into Your Peep Cleanse Regimen.
