I make home made guac quite a bit- just mash up the avocado, add a spoon full of sour cream (though I prefer nf plain greek yogurt as a sour cream substitute), diced tomatoes, diced onion, salt, and lime juice. SO GOOD.

I also put slices of it on sandwiches, or dice it and put in on salad or in soup. Or just eat it plain. But I love avocados, and my husband and I eat them all the time. One thing I learned on pinterest is spread it on a piece of toast, top with sliced strawberries and a bit of chevre, feta, or goat/sheep cheese of your choice. OMG it's like eating heaven.

BUT if you don't like them, then don't eat them! You don't have to, you know. Just eat foods that you like, and weight loss (and life in general) will be much more enjoyable!

I cut that sucker in half, then slice and put on a warm corn tortilla with some salt and eat me some avocado tacos. I also like putting them in my hamburgers. Guacamole is good, but I'm too lazy to whip it up. I'm fine just slicing and eating it.

eta: Honestly, I can eat them with anything. It's such a versatile fruit.

I just made a wrap with barbecued chicken breast (leftover), lettuce, tomato, sour cream and avocado.

Mixing avocado with a lot of other flavors and textures hides it.

Its not a requirement though...if you don't like it, don't eat it!

try cutting it into little pieces, chop up some cucumber to mix it with and add in some little mozzarella balls. It's the bomb! Perfect side dish to a meal or just as a snack by itself.

Do this: fix a nice pico de gallo and add it to some quinoa and avocado. You'll love it. Pretty high in calories though, just watch your portions.

Diced or sliced with salt & pepper. Sometimes I'll mix in some chopped tomato.

Personally for me, if I don't like something or it makes me feel ill, I wont eat it regardless how healthy it is. There are plenty of other nutritious foods that I do like and don't make me ill to eat. With that being said, I hate avocados and if they are on a sandwich or salad and take them off and throw them in the trash.

This may sound weird but I've mashed up avocados with the yellow part while making deviled eggs. If you like deviled eggs, you may want to try this. But really, if you don't like avocado, then don't eat them. There are other sources of healthy fats out there (olive oil, coconut oil, nuts).

    How i eat my avocados:

    -homemade chocolate avocado pudding

    -homemade fudgesicles

-as an oil alternative when baking chocolate or dark chocolate sweets: muffins, brownies, & cookies

    -for creamier smoothies

-as a spread: sandwiches, burgers, tortillas

Avocado by itself tastes nasty to me. I can only tolerate it if it's heavily masked or mixed with other ingredients.

I cut it open, add a little salt and lemon juice, and eat it. Simple.

Why would you eat something that makes you nauseated?
  • I mash it up, add a little bit of tomato, red onion, garlic, salt, pepper and a squeeze of lime juice, through it on a backed potato or put it in a warm flower tortilla and enjoy!

If it makes you sick to your stomach, WHY EAT IT even if it is healthy. Listen to your body. Being sick to your stomach after eating something is not normal. There are other things that have the same healthy qualities as avocado I would suggest doing some research and finding alternatives.

Avocado is so tasty! I love it in practically everything, haha! In a smoothie, on a sandwich, guacamole, or by itself. If you want to try to like avocado, I suggest a smoothie, with other veggies. You won't really taste it at all. And if you spread a little bit on a sandwich, you also won't really taste it.

But bottom line, if you really, REALLY don't like avocado, no sweat. Its a good source of fat, but not the only source.
