Longer distance running with pre-breakfast or not?

It's summer time, meaning it's becoming more and more humid out. The best running time for myself is in the morning before I need to be at work.
Tomorrow I plan to start my 6 mile run at 6am. Whereas I know I can take an easy 3 mile run without breakfast, I am not sure how well I will hold up to 6 miles.
What are other runners' thoughts on longer runs and breakfast? Do you skip it still like the shorter ones, or do you have something that fuels you for that 6 mile run? How long do you eat it beforehand if you do?
