I hate my my wedding dress now :(

I am getting married in 6 days and I just tried on my dress again and I hate how it looks! I had 3 fittings in the last 4-5 months and it seemed fine but I have lost about 15 lbs since the first fitting (the dress was snug when I bought it). Now the dress looks like a potato sack on me. I don't know why I am posting this really, I am just totally bummed about it. I thought losing weight and inches would make my wedding day better

the dress still looks beautiful just a little loose in the waist. Maybe you could try a sash to cinch it in make it fit a bit better. Hope is not lost. you still have time.0

Agree with the above poster. Still looks fantastic!0

Thanks guys...I guess my expectations are just WAY higher than what they should be lol. I know there are bigger things to worry about, but I just need to vent about it. I spent so much money on it and just was really expecting I would still love it for the big day!0

Personally, I really like your dress. It is beautiful and you will look beautiful.
But I can relate. I'll let you in on a secret. When I got married I actually changed my wedding dress 2 weeks before the wedding. I was so sick of the one I bought in a timely and orderly manner way before the wedding, that I just simply changed my mind and got me a new one. Yeah, I know, not exactly the cheapest option but made me feel good.0 -
I think it's very pretty!0

I can't see the pictures, but if you're not happy with the fit, can't they nip it in just a little more? You still have a few days. Either way, once you have your hair and makeup done and your accessories on, it will all come together.0

Brillant idea. Love the dress0 -
The dress looks nice and you will be beautiful on your wedding day. If it's bumming you out though, maybe try adding as sash to the dress to help better define your waist.
Congratulations on the wedding and weight loss :flowerforyou:0 -
I think it looks really nice, and the fabric looks beautiful. I personally never went for the trend of everythone stuffing themselves into strapless dresses that usually didn't flatter the people, so I am glad to see a different, more flattering style. I think that if you made it too slim/tight, it wouldn't fit as gracefully--0

I think it looks great on you. You don't look like a potato sack in it a all. Congrats by the way!!:flowerforyou:0

dangit...oh well can't get the image to work
Fixed it...the IMG has to be lower case
It's a nice dress, but agree maybe a sash or something will make it what you want it to be0 -
It's very pretty. You should still be able to get it taken in a little. If the shop doesn't have a quick enough turn around time, try a local tailor.0

I really like it. I agree with the sash idea.0

Agreed - even after a massive wedding meal that dress will still look elegant and beautiful. A sash in the same colour as your bridesmaids' dresses might look nice if you wanted to cinch it in a little - or you could ask a seamstress to take it in a little just around the upper torso.0 -
I am going to look for a sash today! Thanks I actually have a waist that this dress does not show at all....I think that's what I don't like so maybe the sash would help...worth a shot. Oh and to the poster who bought another dress....I have thought about doing that all morning lol!0

Thanks Maria! Now I know how to post an image0

You look stunning.0

Tailor? Friend who is nifty with a sewing machine? Any shop that does alterations?
It's beautiful, and I agree with other posters that a sash could make a big difference, though you don't want it to look bunched up.
Congrats! I'm sure you will have a lovely day. I do support you working something out though - probably an obvious thing to say but you are the center of attention more than any other day in your life, so it's important to feel comfortable and feel like you look good!0 -
Your dress is absolutely beautiful. Good suggestions about a sash or taking in. I can see why you fell in love with this dress and your weight loss should be celebrated and not upsetting. You can adjust the dress...but would you really be happier if you still had those 16 lbs.? Here's to a beautiful bride! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0
