your wish has been granted (you can now opt to not add back exercise calories to your goals)

so.... in case you haven't noticed... you can now opt to NOT add back your exercise calories automatically into your goals (and... other things too - go look around in the goals section)

i like to eat them so it makes no difference to ME but i see a lot of people who dont want them added to their calories for the day.... now, you have that option.

i dont know how to post a pic. when i click on goals, then fitness goals.... theres a place where it says 'when i log an exercise' and then 'adjust my daily calorie goal' and is a 'on' or 'off' box

so,.... im ASSUMING thats what this will do? i havent tested it. i did however try to change my macro percentages and it wouldnt let me SAVE the changes, so i think they are tinkering with things

Is that info in the blue box what you're talking about? I don't see anywhere to opt out of adding exercise calories. Is it something special for the phone app?

No edit button on mine (PC). Goals section is the same as it's been for 3 years.

I don't see what you're talking about. when you edit the goals that Zyxst linked to, you can set goals for minutes per workout and calories burned.

Maybe they're rolling something out, one group of profiles at a time?

Maybe MFP is actually listening to what many of its users want. I kind of like seeing them there just for reference.

I don't have it yet, I want it, soon. I'd love the ability....I hate those calories showing up on the phone app because I don't eat them back and hate doing the math :p

I don't add exercise calories until I'm finished eating for the day.

I still don't see anything that wasn't always there. Regardless, we've always been able to chose whether or not we eat our exercise calories.

If MFP listened to users, we'd have the ignore feature back.

There's no math. You know your daily goal, so you just eat to that amount regardless of what's been added.

can't u just not log exorcise if your not gonna eat back the calories? seems like the simplest option esp if MFP over estimates calories burned anyway

On the android app my jawbone adds calories and the app shows calories remaining, with those cals added. I would like it to just show my remaining without adding the cals. It's the little things I guess.

Why not change the total to one calorie. That's what I do. (I use the TDEE method.) That's also how I used to do it when I lowered the estimates.

Edit: Oh, I see about Jawbone. When I switched to TDEE method I un-synced Fitbit, because there's no reason to connect them if you aren't eating the calories, IMO.

How do you get to this screen? I can't seem to find it.

    Thank you!

I'm not sure I understand why MFP would have to add an option to opt out of Including exercise calories. Surely If you don't want to eat back exercise calories, you simply don't add them in the first place? And you don't synch the devices.

You want your total calorie burn posted on the newsfeed and therefore communicate your effort to your MFPals but don't want to adjust your daily calories (which may already account for exercise)

You want to be able to see how many miles you walked/ran without needing to manually adjust the entries all the time

Similar for people who have step counters linked to their account. It would provide one location for viewing this info, again without needing to adjust the calorie count back down each time

^^^ this. Also the ability to set different goal s on different days and would be very useful and avoid having to do some work around especially for those who do IF
