I'm not sure there was much of a segue. I was posting photos of calorie dense foods to bump the thread every so often and it turns out The Rock poses with food a lot, so I had some fun.

I don't have any difficulty reaching my goal, but so many of these foods are my absolute faves! I am having to cut down on avocados, houmous, seeds and most definitely peanut butter. I still have them as they are just too delicious, but not as often or as much as I would like. Wish I was one of the lucky ones having difficulty getting up to my calorie goal - lucky sods!0

Calorie dense foods can be your best friend when you're trying to eat more. These are foods that pack a lot of calories into just a small amount, so they boost your calories quickly without putting a lot of extra food in your stomach. This is a generic list and it's definitely not comprehensive, but anything here can be included in a balanced diet (as long as there are no allergies, medical conditions, obviously):
avocado
cheese
full fat dairy
Greek yogurt

potatoes (sweet, red, gold, purple, white, etc.)

I think this is a great list, but I disagree with tuna and salmon. Those are not high calorie foods.0 -

Thanks for your thoughts @saraclark62 ! Since this thread is about three years past the editing window, I can't go back and change anything so the best I can do is address the issues people have in individual comments (which I have already).
Are there any foods you would add? I've been trying to bring in more and more recipes over the years, but no one ever seems to have other suggestions. Just things they disagree with.0 -

That is indeed a great list! And it's also full of my daily eats.
Trying to hit my fat goal was hard at the beginning, but then I discovered another thing which I'd add here - the saucisse seche / hard cured salami. It has anywhere between 400-500 kcal per 100g and is packed with protein and fat. Makes for a great snack.0 -

For the vegans, this is one of the most delicious and most calorie-dense things I've ever made. They also freeze really well in case you want to extend the days of joyous calorie intake.

I think you may be my favorite person, not excluding my family. I am always on the hunt for sinful vegan desserts that don't require me to liquefy cashews in my non-existent high-powered blender.1
