This is a great list! Thank you! I've had a hard time meeting my calorie goal, this definitely gives me an idea on what to eat to boost up my calorie intake!

It was either this or food made to look like people.

I don't have any difficulty reaching my goal, but so many of these foods are my absolute faves! I am having to cut down on avocados, houmous, seeds and most definitely peanut butter. I still have them as they are just too delicious, but not as often or as much as I would like. Wish I was one of the lucky ones having difficulty getting up to my calorie goal - lucky sods!

This is kind of terrifying. LOL However, please continue with pictures of the Rock.

The recipe importer says these work out to about 100 calories per cookie:

I'm posting this list with the intention of creating something that people can link to when someone is having a hard time reaching their calorie goal. I hope that other users will add more ideas in the comments.

Calorie dense foods can be your best friend when you're trying to eat more. These are foods that pack a lot of calories into just a small amount, so they boost your calories quickly without putting a lot of extra food in your stomach. This is a generic list and it's definitely not comprehensive, but anything here can be included in a balanced diet (as long as there are no allergies, medical conditions, obviously):

    avocado
    cheese
    full fat dairy
    Greek yogurt
    ice cream
peanut butter (or other nut butters)
    dark chocolate
less lean cuts of meat (including beef, pork, sausage, etc.)
    seeds (chia, flax, sunflower, etc.)
    nuts
    olive oil
    coconut oil
    butter
    beans and lentils
    protein shakes, bars, and smoothies
    hummus
    beef jerky
    cornbread
    tuna
    full calorie condiments
    full calorie sauces & dressings
    sour cream
    guacamole
    whole grain pasta
    rice
    bacon
    whole eggs
    quinoa
    fruit and fruit juices
    pretzels
    bananas
    scones
muffins (bran, blueberry, banana nut, etc.)
potatoes (sweet, red, gold, purple, white, etc.)
dried fruit (raisins, apricots, plums, dates, etc.)
    granola
    coconut
    salmon
    edamame
    olives
    honey
    molasses

I think this is a great list, but I disagree with tuna and salmon. Those are not high calorie foods.

Thanks for your thoughts @saraclark62 ! Since this thread is about three years past the editing window, I can't go back and change anything so the best I can do is address the issues people have in individual comments (which I have already).

Are there any foods you would add? I've been trying to bring in more and more recipes over the years, but no one ever seems to have other suggestions. Just things they disagree with.
