I walk around a block and takes me 5 minutes each round. I've been doing this 8 times around 2 x today, then another later (maybe 2 more times) I think I got the idea now with gMaps pedometer site. Now my feeble brain wants to figure out the 5 minute rounds of the 0.336 of a mile i'm walking, what speed i'm walking at0 -

oh, that may not have read well. I meant that each time I go for 40 minutes that's 8 times around. I am working up the my 3rd 40 minute walk and hopefully get in a 4th for 160 minutes for the day.0 -

It looks like you are walking at around 4 mph...you are doing .336 or 1/3 mile in 5 minutes, so 1 mile would take you 15 minutes. A 15 minute mile is 4 mph (that's 60/15 minutes).
That's a good pace for walking!
Is there a reason why you are trying to walk 10 miles in a day? That's what you'd end up with if you did 4-40 minute walks.0 -
Five minutes times .33 miles would be 15 minutes per mile. Fifteen minutes per mile would be 4 MPH.0

That's cool, it felt like I was going much faster then when I started 2 months agoI have lots of time, writing, drawing, taking pictures..etc Not a whole lot of movement. I work on the computer alot from home. Not only do the walks, step aerobics (included weights over 2 weeks ago), help with getting in shape, but they really help clear my head!
Today I made the two sets of walks, and did some step aerobics before dinner. Tomorrow may be different. Thanks for figuring that out for me. I'll change todays log from 3 mph to 3.5 (just to cover overestimates from Mfp) I have so much to learn, especially now that i'm including weights
