Successes/struggles this week: Was able to wear a pair of pants I couldn't fit a couple of weeks ago and had room to spare! Also, noticed my stamina has increased. Got through more than 30 minutes of cardio without stopping or feeling like I was going to pass out. I am however struggling today with my motivation. I found myself contemplating giving up on this journey. I decided to take a body shot so that I would have some point of comparison for the future. Seeing that picture really depressed me. I knew I was out of shape but I didn't realize it was this bad. It just makes my goals seem that much more unattainable.

Successes/struggles this week: Last night was election night here in the UK. I was up all night drinking but I didn't eat until about six hours ago. Been drinking a lot of water and tea since. Had a two hour nap. Woke up and realised I needed to weigh myself... so yeah, since I usually weigh in the mornings before consuming anything, that isn't really an accurate number. Maybe I should have waited until tomorrow?

    Successes/struggles this week:
Lots of stress this week. I have eaten very well - and taken some record walks!

(Yep: Yesterday, this girl, who 2 1/2 months ago thought that 10,000 steps-per-day was a ridiculous, totally unrealistic goal, got a 20,000 Step badge from Fitbit.)

I should probably knock on wood, or something, but... I really feel like I have broken the back of the stress-and-boredom-eating beast. (I'm sure we'll have more battles, mind. Still, I'm not turning to the pantry, first, when something makes me crazy.)

Now I just need to remind myself that - since stress slows my weight loss - I need to just relax and ignore the blasted scale! (I mostly go by measurements and clothes, anyway; but as Weigh Day for this challenge approaches, I become more aware of the numbers. (Pooze.))

    Anywhoooo, that's it from me.

    How's it going for you?!?

    Weight lost/gained this month:

Successes/struggles this week: Well, I just got my monthly visitor, and I always, always gain a pound or two from bloating during that week. Hopefully on my next weigh in I'll drop even more than the 2lbs I gained.

Successes/struggles this week: I started this month by buying a 10lb kettle bell, a 5lb bar bell, a Magic Circle (a resistance toy), and a 5lb toner ball. Used them for the first time and there is some soreness but now I am so close to my goal (6lbs) that I really need to get rid of the flabby. Need to work on my abs and arms the most. I will win and start my maintenance! These last few pounds are going to be the hardest so wish me luck!

Successes/struggles this week: I got in a good amount of exercise time this week; hiking, cycling class, elliptical and walking. Helped that the weather was gorgeous. I really could improve the amount of water I intake, especially while I am at work. I am going to try and continue with the same amount of exercise next week even though I expect work week to be busier and to aim for 8 glasses of water/day.

Successes/struggles this week: Welp, almost a 2 pound gain isn't a good way to start the month. I'm such a loser! I drink too much beer, it's my downfall. I can control my eating, watch my portions, make good choices, stay away from junk food, etc...but set a beer in front of me and it's all down hill from there. I'm probably going to a nice lunch with my husband and kids tomorrow, so I know I'll fail tomorrow. Then I'm quite certain I'll be on the back deck with my Mom on Sunday, drinking beer, so Sunday will probably be a fail as well. I need to readjust my mind set on Monday morning and get back to it.

Successes/struggles this week: Down 2lbs since last week – yea! However, I lost and gained these same two pounds two weeks ago, too.

Started Crossfit last week and have done two classes per week plus running four times per week (40 to 120 minutes each), with a minimum of 10,000 steps per day.

I'm logging calories with a base of 1200 and then adding in about half of the calories burned from exercise. I am seeing that this is not terribly precise and that weighing my food will help me break the 2lb yo-yo.

Successes/struggles this week: went to dinner last night with family and had a cheeseburger as a "treat". A month ago it would have been sublime but after eating clean for nearly three weeks it was greasy and heavy and made me queasy! I don't trip over the same rock twice, so next time I go out, clean eating it is! Woohoo!
