Ran My First 5K!

8 months ago I was 173 lbs, and miserable. (I'm 5'6", 46 years old).
Joined a gym, and started eating right-- fast forward to May 2nd, I've lost 42 lbs, and just (literally!) completed my first 5K in 29 minutes. Feelin' good! Plan to keep working out and eating well (maintenance). Day by day is all it takes. :)ek5heyn73eu5.jpg

Awesome! I just ran my first 5k too! I was so afraid of it and didn't think I would be able to "run" the whole time but I did and it was awesome! Congrats on all your accomplishments! I'm going after another 50 lbs now!

I usually do it in 35 on the treadmill- so I was shocked to see the clock as I approached- and I stepped onto the finish line mat at exactly 29 minutes.

I just ran my fist 5k three weeks ago. It meant the world to me. Onward and upward.

    Pittsburgh marathon?

Congrats great work. A friend of mine just finished too. He only did a leg as part of a team but it was a really great accomplishment for him.
