Not really. You have to delete it from your diary.

How do you make a recent food list

@dljones1245, MFP creates a recent/frequent foods list(s) for you automatically. When you log a food in your diary, it gets added to recent/frequent foods, and will come up first when you search for a food next time, as long as you continue eating that thing semi-frequently.

For others reading the thread: I don't remember the exact features in the app in 2015, but it IS now possible to delete a recent/frequent food.

In the Android app, long press the item and a "delete" option shows up. (Apple app may be different, not sure exactly how; sometimes long-press things in the Android app are swipe things in Apple, I think.)

In web browser MFP, you click the check-box on the item, then the "Delete from List" button at the lower right.

    Correct.

In the iOS app, go to your diary and pretend like you're going to enter a food. Find the food you want to delete from the recent food list. Swipe to the left and you get what is probably the same DELETE option that @AnnPT77 described in the Android app.
