hi everyone. I was told about this Low Carb High Fat way of eating via a collegue who successfully lost 7kgs although she is Sweddish and naturally thin and has lovely bone structure I'm concerned of cholesterol and heart attack! My father in law died of a heart attack and he was a very healthy active man. My husband has around 30kgs to loose and after years of encouraging, pleading and nagging him to get healthier he is know wanting to do it. I've counted calories and find that helped to loose my big weight loss and now I just have the last 8-12 kts to go. I am researching and thought any opinions or thoughts may be helpful???

Most people are happy just counting calories and eating the foods they normally eating, but modifying portions and perhaps proportions. Some people report good success with LCHF, but that is true for any kind of diet plan. I would encourage you and your husband to focus on figuring out how to fit what you like to eat into your calories :)

You don't get high cholesterol for heart attacks from fatty food, you get them from being overweight, regardless of what you eat. You'll find a lot more info here:

You will have to research it. Fat is good for you if it is the right kinds of fat and it keeps you full and peaks energy for the lack of carbs. I do carb cycling which I have lc hf days then hi carb low fat days. I rather enjoy it. Primal blueprint is a good book to read and he explains alot about lchf. Mark sisson is his name.
