Update: I'm finally >90% healed, and have gotten rid of the loudmouth VAC that I was using. Since my doctor's office disbanded, I asked the head nurse at my home wound care company re: boredom, brain cell preservation and depression. She said that it would be great for me to have mental stimulation, instead of giving in to depression, boredom and sleepiness. She reassured me that when I turn in for the night, that offers plenty of healing sleep. Therefore, I do nap as needed but watch a ton of tv, read and play solo games.

In addition, I have taken up crocheting, and am working hard on my first real project, a tablet cozy for a friend. I also know how to loom knit, and made myself a tablet cozy using those skills. Although my wound care team estimates that I'll recover in time for the next semester in college, I'm thinking/praying about spending any additional free time prescribed for prevention of relapse making/having loved ones drop off winter gear (warm hats, gloves, maybe a blanket or two, etc.) for the needy.

They might want you bored so you sleep a lot because lots of healing takes place then.
Bored and sad all the time? My new doctor and I would like to see some research proving that.
