@7lenny7 - my daughter was here last weekend and we went to the running store and got her new running shoes too
@Stoshew71 - I can empathize with those sore, tired glutes! You have been really putting them to work so maybe some foam rolling and focused stretching will help too, along with the yoga.

I ran my daughter to summer camp today with a friend and her kids (we ran, the kids biked). It was so much fun! I left my car by the park last night in order to be able to drive back home and get to work. I think we will do it again on Friday and I will just run back. My daughter is 5 and struggles a bit on the hills. By the end of the summer she should be pro though!0 -

am happy to say on Saturday i ran 26.2 miles injury free and with a smile on my face the whole way. It was a amazing expierence and I will never forget any moment. I even loved the hard moments.
Well then, maybe you do love running... just not necessarily a progressively more difficult & regimented training plan that goes along with marathons. Good luck with your subsequent adventures in exercise.0 -
@dawnna76 - Congrats on the finish, you have joined an elite crowd and should be proud!
I'm in my own 1st marathon training and the difference is substantial. For me it is not about dreading the runs or hating them (I actually look forward to the longer runs, even while running them). It's just the amount of time. A lot of people say it is like a part time job, and it really is. I have some upcoming weeks where I figure I will spend 12 hours running...and even more time will probably be required not too long after that! Just this morning I was thinking how nice it might be to focus on half marathons or less all next year because I could knock those out and easily spend more than enough time to do train while also not having to work so hard to fit in runs on both weekdays and weekends.
If next year is like this year though, that is unlikely. I'm addicted at the moment to longer distances.
The food can be a bit ridiculous too. I'm eating everything that can't run faster than me.
@RunTimer - I had to chuckle about your shoes swan song run as my original Brooks Glycerines went on their last long run today (300 miles). They still feel good so I will keep using them on short runs until they feel uncomfortable. Funny how much I love these shoes.0
