Shall we let Frank sleep awhile longer before asking?

    Isn’t punctuation passe

Wasn't there something about commas saving lives? But maybe question marks don't count?

Didn't that remind me of a book I read (and enjoyed)?

have you heard of the Australian version - Wombat - eats, roots, and leaves?

but does that only make sense if you understand what roots means in Australian slang?

if I tell you it rhymes with ducks, does that give you a clue?

    They call trucks roots?

wont I get in trouble with mods if I explain it any more explicitly?

Did you not hear I’ve been promoted to Empress, @paperpudding ?

Wouldn't an ideal [first or only] wish be to have infinitely more wishes? 🤔
Isn't there some kind of wish rule against that?

If a program tries to use more space than allocated, isn't it a simple overflow error?
    a98ha9u72dr0.png

As an ex Java programmer, should I have expected the stack overflow problem to also apply to genie wishes? 😂

Is there ever a time you’re not talking coffee, @frankwbrown ?

Would that correspond to the times when he's actually asleep?

Aren't I now awake, drinking coffee and also peppermint tea, but not at the same time?
If I were to mention chocolate, might someone say how much they love white chocolate, and I'd have to respond that 1) IMHO it's no longer chocolate when you've removed the cocoa, and 2) often what is presented as white chocolate is fake, having little or no cocoa butter in it? Having said that, wouldn't I begrugingly admit that real cocoa butter can have an appeal independent of the theobromine, caffeine and flavour laden cocoa powder?
So, is coffee a better topic at the virtual water cooler?
  • frankwbrown
    frankwbrown Posts: 12,946 Member
And of course aren't there other topics besides coffee, like chocolate, cookies, ice cream, cakes, pies, other delicious desserts, not to mention savory foods? Would you rather I bore you with talk of yoga, pilates, tai chi, water aerobics, hiking, and the need to get in 10,000 steps a day, even when one has a cold?

If we talk about coffee at the virtual water cooler, what should I talk about at the office water cooler in real life?
  • frankwbrown
    frankwbrown Posts: 12,946 Member
Isn't the obvious answer to have a meta-conversation where you talk, at the real-life office water cooler, about talking about coffee at a virtual water cooler? And since we're talking at just such a virtual water cooler, couldn't you talk about how you talk about real cooler talk during virtual cooler talk? Couldn't this evolve into several meta-layers, like the movie "Inception"? I mean, after all, is your office water cooler really real?

Which movie do you think is better at debating the nature of perceived reality, Inception or Matrix?

Whoa, haven’t you all been verbose this morning??

Shall I check back in after coffee or a quick at work nap ?

Maybe after a quick nap at work and then a coffee? 😂

Isn't at-work napping frowned upon? Or maybe she's found a secret place to duck in and grab 20 winks?

Do you think people who work making mattresses are paid to try out the products, for "quality inspections?"

    like this thread?

couldn't you try reading it from beginning to end?

wouldnt you either fall asleep or take all night reading it?
Are you implying that reading through this thread is sleep-inducing? 😑

While Matrix does a good job contrasting a real vs imagined reality, doesn't Inception introduce the concept of recursion (one of my favorite concepts) and raises the question of whether you can really know, when awakening from a dream, that you are not still within yet another dream within yet another dream...?

Aren't I jealous of your 6.5 hours of sleep per night, considering I'm lucky to get 6 even and often settle for only 5?

Could the nutritious caffeine pills be to blame for this? :p
    .

    Zat you srazamora?

Did you mean to say Empress @srazamora ? 🤪

Also, hasn’t it been way more than 7 hours and 15 days, @skahtboi ? 😆

    You are royalty now??

Is it possible that it has been a little longer than that?

Shouldn’t royalty get a personalized doodle complete with a shiny tiara, @skahtboi ?

Is that something I need to do??

Leaving aside whether it’s needed, isn’t it something you should do? 😁

Is it possible you raise a very good point?

Isn’t the fact that the people have spoken and elected me empress enough to get a personalized doodle from @skahtboi ?!

Should I get right on that? Is it possible you might need to remind me a time or two? Can one really be so busy they meet themself coming and going?

    What’s the hold up, @skahtboi ?

While Matrix does a good job contrasting a real vs imagined reality...

Since Matrix was released in theaters while I was minoring in philosophy in college, and the professor took us all to watch it and debate it for a week after, won't the Matrix hold a special place in my heart forever to come?

As I was on-call and received calls until late and texts starting early, can they really frown on finding me with my head down on the desk? 🥱 Didn’t I skip the nap but opted for coffee and standing during a two hour meeting?
