@paperpudding , are you really questioning whether we’re all here to ask questions? 🤣
have you heard of a rhetorical question?
Is is still considered a rhetorical question if instead of just not expecting an answer, you expect another question, @paperpudding ?

Was that your first post here, @MsElphaba , or did you go out of your way to find one that I quoted and replied to? 😜 Also, how was your vacation in Minnesota?

Would it clarify anything at all if I suggested it's probably either /rɪˈtɔːr.ɪ.kəl/ or /rɪˈtɒr.ɪ.kəl/?

Isn't that still better than being late to stop the microwave from burning your popcorn?
Couldn't you perhaps adapt and modify the following recipe for making toast?
Wasn't it specified in a Grook (aka a rhyming aphorism with accompanying line drawing) by Piet Hein (the Danish poet, designer, inventor, and scientist, not to mention creator of the Super Egg 😂)
Doesn't it go something like this:
"TIMING TOAST
Grook on how to char for yourself
There's an art of knowing when.
Never try to guess.
Toast until it smokes and then
twenty seconds less.”
― Piet Hein"?
P.S. If you succeed at this, could you please tell me how?

Isn't that similar to how I heard they test a bridge's max load, by driving ever-heavier trucks across until one breaks the bridge, weigh the last one which passed, and then rebuild the bridge?2

Doesn't it prove that the post in question wasn't my first even if it the example isn't the first? As for Minnesota, is a vacation ever long enough?0 -

Shouldn’t the cast and creators of Whose Line Is it Anyway? get some of the credit since this thread is a blatant copy of one of their regular skits? 🤭

@frankwbrown, how long has it been since we've had coffee "together"?0

Hasn't it been too long?
Would you believe I slept in this morning, and am now sitting down to sip some coffee that is lacking the three things that my coffee normally has: cream, sugar and heat?

Am I, or am I taking an opportunity to reexamine my tastes and habits while avoiding calories, with the expectation that I will be enjoying something sweeter and more satisfying later today when I attend an Earth Day celebration in the park?
