Wouldn't it be exhausting to travel the world!?

    Is it?
Did anyone else notice that there were 30 posts per page after this thread went from over 5,000 pages (am I remembering correctly?) down to less than 3,397, apparently without loss of any posts?
And did you assume this might have been the result of changing from 20 posts per page to 30 posts per page? So then, are you puzzled how it could then go from 3,397 pages up to 3,449, without changing the number of posts per page, nor creating additional posts in the process? 🤔

Why did you have to bring math into this?

Hello?? have you all missed me?

Isnt it wonderful I can finally see writing again and not blank pages on this thread?

Have you been checking in on us daily or was it a coincidence that you popped in today and everything had been restored, @paperpudding ?

Isn't one definition of insanity quoted as "doing the same thing but expecting different results?" By checking daily, hoping eventually the dilemma resolved itself, does that meet the definition?

But if the results eventually change, doesn’t that make the person not just not crazy, but also really smart?

Isn’t it interesting how the thought of traveling the world can energize some and drain others?

Since Jackie Chan already proved you can go around the world in 80 days, does that mean we should expect Cat back any day now?

since most other threads were not blank ends for me, wasn't still checking in to forum daily a good thing?

Out of curiosity, I flipped back to page 3397, and do you know what I found? Did you answer "the page does not exist?" Shall I simply guess that the additional pages were somehow connected to the resync, and feel bad for anybody reading this thread for the first time who comes across the missing pages and errantly believes the thread dies at that point? Then again, shall we ever encounter somebody willing to read every single entry from the beginning of this thread until today?

    Whatever are you talking about?
Don't I see the following post, posted on March 1st, at the top of page 3397?
Wouldn't ice cream in your coffee be good? Like a coffee float?

Why do I find clicking back to page 3397 almost as exhausting as the thought of travelling the world?
BTW, has anyone tried an ice cream coffee latte?😋

😲 Do you think this thread was unfairly targeted for such a glitch?

Can you see this now that this thread has been restored, @STRAITBUGGIN ??

Why do we often seem to be in disagreement in this thread, Frank? Can't we just get along? 😎

Was that an appropriate smiley/emoticon? Would my teenage daughter be proud of her old man's tech-speak skills?

Are you sure she’d be proud, @nossmf ? Did you know I recently read an article that most youth these days use emojis ironically or sarcastically?

Whatever happened to the world where a smiley face can simply mean a smiling person?

Also, whatever happened to my last post, where I asked if anybody else has been experiencing lag and dropouts in this particular thread when clicking "Post Reply" but not in other threads?

Haven't I had it happen in several threads, inconsistently? And isn't it weird that the way it times out is different than I've ever seen, compared to the usual 504 Gateway TImeout response?
(Is it possible I'm wrong about it happening in other threads? 🤷‍♂️)

Didn’t I post about getting that same message just a few days ago? Does it make it even stranger that even though I get that message, my post is usually always successfully posted?

Would you think it less strange if I told you that a 504 error is telling you that a server was waiting for a response from another server to which it sent your request, which means it succeeded in sending the request, but timed out waiting for a response from that server? Doesn't this suggest then that the other server might have received and acted on the request, but was slow in sending back a response?
(isn't this a simplified description of what happens?)

    a simplified description???

would you please refrain from posting the detailed one?

If you could see my facial expression right now, wouldn’t it be clear that my own server is timed out? How can I insert “Does not compute” in the form of a question?

Would it have been better if I'd said, "Server A sent a request to Server B, and Server B acted on that request but was slow in sending back a response, and Server A got tired of waiting"? 🤔

Frank yes, don't I prefer your new super simplified explanation?
