Well I'm hoping the salad I have for dinner was thoroughly cleaned beforehand...

Caterpillar's have calories. So I always make sure I rinse my lettuce through before I eat it! LOL

Thanks for that. It's actually a takeout salad from the sub place!

Did you see this on you salad? :D

I eat clean because I prefer the food and feel better. I don't have any airy fairy ideologies about it. I just like it. I didn't eat very clean for a few days this week because I was lazy, petulant about the weather and other things, and now I feel like crap. I hate feeling like crap. I can't stop sleeping and my brain is foggy, just like before I began dieting.

By the way, I ate at a deficit every day this week.
Eating clean ruins your digestive system and makes it so weak you can't handle any other foods.

I'm not an advocate for eating clean (or dirty for that matter), but I am an advocate for eating however you choose. Most people choose a diet that makes them feel best, even if it's all processed foods or none at all.

That said, do you really believe this to be true? If so, please tell me more.

Haven't we established that "eating clean" is whatever the "clean eater" claims it is?

Seems silly to make assertions about the value or lack thereof when it doesn't even mean anything at all.

If I don't know if cottage cheese or smoked salmon or homemade apple pie or the ground lamb I'm going to make a pasta sauce with tonight are "clean" or not, how on earth can I generalize about the value of eating "clean."

Therefore, I choose to believe that it is nothing other than a term that some people like because it allows them to feel superior to others, even though they probably don't actually eat much differently.

That said, welcome, OP! I agree that "eating clean," whatever it may be, is not necessary.

Yep. Clean eating is all in the perception, so dietary/food choices are simply personal preferences. :)

You never can be too sure. A restaurant I worked at once accidentally served a guest, a salad with a living frog sitting on it. Restaurant vegetables grow in fields outdoors just like the ones we eat at home and sometimes things get overlooked in the preparation process...Frogs have calories too. We were pretty sure he was clean though so it was probably okay. :p

No hate from me. It is too bad they missed it all the other times this helpful advice has been posted. If they learned something helpful today that is great.
Sorry I did not post funny pictures and tell jokes about washing food. Maybe next time. :)

Sure he could be wanting to connect and converse. He also wants to give us help and advice.
He doesn't seem to be participating in the conversation though. Why do you think that is?

    Dunno.

Maybe he's out and about and has not had time to come back and respond.

Maybe his friend got sick and he took him/her some homemade soup.

Maybe he gets intimidated super easy and ran the other way.

Maybe there was an earthquake where he lives and his internet was destroyed.

    Maybe.....

    Wait a minute!

Jumping to assumptions as to why he's not come back is silly--like your assumption that he hasn't come back because of whatever particular reason you are thinking of. :)

That's a great question. I heard it's cured, and I had some bacon with breakfast this morning. :)

It don't think there is any real definition of eating clean anyway.

I forgot my bacon with breakfast this morning... so I made up for it with bacon on my hamburger for lunch. If eating that is dirty, I don't want to be clean.

I don't usually preach about clean eating, but the Wendy's in my town is immaculate, and I'm pretty sure it's the reason I've been able to lose so consistently.

Actually, it is not. There are newbies who believe this. Seriously. :)
