$100 for a pair of jeans..would you do it?

none of you should ever move to the UK. Levis are 100 pounds here! I pay that much for my jeans all the time.0

Work towards a goal and, once you reach it, buy those puppies. At this point, you've earned it, so you'll feel better about the cash.0
-
Do it once you've hit your goal and if it means that you won't be sacrificing other, more important things, in terms of money.
I say to it at your goal for two reasons: one, as a reward and two, because I normally find that jeans are the first clothes that start slipping down when I've lost weight so do it if you know that you shouldn't be losing any more weight!0 -
I always said I'd never spend that much on jeans but alas, I recently broke down and was talked into buying a pair of Miss Me's. I very rarely wear jeans but when I do, I am very picky about how they fit and am shaped weird (thick calves, big wide booty, low narrow waist). I've searched everywhere for jeans that would fit right, I'd be comfortable in and not look like an old lady from behind (you ladies know what I'm talking about)! Problem solved & I love them!!
Given that I will probably wear these things for the next 10 years, I'd say that $10 per year is pretty cheap!
Oh no! You were suppose to say you hate them. jk I am glad to hear you are loving them!
Yes, this sounds exactly how I am shaped and why I am considering it.0 -
Have done so and will do so again...:)
I'm going to be bringing them in for tailoring seeing as when I bought them, weight loss wasn't even a thought!
If you can set aside the monet without compromising anything else, go for it!0 -
I save money for certain expensive items all the time. I don't have tons of money either, but it is always nice to buy something great to sort of spoil ourselves. I look at it this way...If I saved the money for that specific item then that is what it is going to go towards. A lot of times the money saved is coins that have added up over the few weeks. I don't feel bad for spending it. You have to treat yourself every once in a while, or you will go crazy.0

Dude. I buy lululemon because I think they are magic *kitten* pants! If you have found magic *kitten* jeans - GO FOR IT0
-
Buy them if you really like them. A good pair of jeans can last a loooong time. What kind are you looking at?
Miss Me Jeans
I love Miss Me's. I can't wait until I fit into them.. my mom and sister (43 and 16) have pairs and they both look great in them. I love Rock Revivals too. Look on the Buckle's website.. they sometimes have them clearanced out0 -
I live more frugally than almost everyone I know, and have read a lot about minimal spending / expenses.
We all have to find where we get the most satisfaction from what we spend (just like calories).
Are the jeans good quality, or just over priced? Will you still have then 5 years from now?
I have spent over $100 on a shirt before, but 10 years later I am still wearing it, the color has not faded and the fit is still good. There are a ton of cheap shirts I have bought, worn, and thrown out since then. Everything has a place in your wardrobe, will you still be happy with them a few years from now?
Buy a few good quality staple pieces that will last you years, and keep it looking fresh with some cheaper "throw-away" pieces.
so much this^
if it is good quality and likely to last for a few years absolutely! that 100.00 turns into way less a year
I had 2 pairs of flip flops that I LOVE that were like 40.00 each and some thought I was crazy! but they were super comfy, and I wear them every day and one pair just broke a month ago after 5 years. to me that was worth the 40.00 rather than a 10.00 pair that wear out in one season
but I am Canadian and even a lower end pair of jeans is at least 50.00 (unless you are shopping at wal-mart) and most average jeans are probably 80.00 here
if they will last then go for it
I have no problem paying more for a product that is good quality and will last longer0 -
I would only spend that on running shoes.0
-
I bought a $100 pair when i got down to my goal weight a couple of years ago. They fit me for a month. They are my motivation right now, I loved those jeans so much!0
-
Life is too short. Buy the jeans.0
-
$10 a pair at the Tractor Supply store.0
-
No way! When you can get great bargains at the outlets. I'd rather find a few items for that price.0
-
also being a poor cat, I would advise against it. Maybe set some aside until you have enough to buy them AFTER you've paid all of your bills. Me, personally, I'd take that $100 and go grocery shopping.
I agree.0 -

wahahaha! Magic *kitten* should definitely be priceless. . Love it.:drinker:
Not sure how to do the double quote post thing. This is a test..and only a test...
Well, in case it does not work: Great advice Nicole, I will check that website out. Thanks!

I'd buy 'em. I've been poor.
Buy the jeans. . .when you get to goal weight and you have saved up the $$$ for them - it will be your just reward.0 -
Sometimes, the more expensive option is the better choice, long term. Ill-fitting, thin, cheap material for $9.95 that wears out in 6 months vs. something that fits well, made from decent material, and wears well for a decade? The expensive one would be the frugal option in that case.
For me, it's with footwear. I'd rather buy a pair of Docs or Fluevogs (AND can be re-soled by a cobbler for a decent price when DO you wear down the soles) that I know will survive 10+ years of abuse than buy some crap from Payless...
This!! All of my Vogs are gifts from DH, and they last forever (which is just a bonus to the schmexy factor!). Quality goods are soooo worth it! :happy:0 -

There are still 3 pairs of Doc's from the mid 90s at my parents house in perfect condition. I won't wear them anymore because it isn't my style anymore than anything else that I wore when I was 14
those things last forever0 -
Absolutely. Jeans I chose to spend money on 10 yrs ago I still have, still look great and I still love them. Jeans are essential items that I'm willing to spend money on for the right fit and cut.0
-
Firstly, they are jeans you will get the wear out of them if they are good quality. DO IT!! you will love them and if they make your *kitten* look good... always yes! I spend $168 on my DL1961s and they are the best jeans I have EVER worn in my life.
Here is a website I use for my expensive jeans... you get an email everyday telling you what is onsale and it's there until it's bought up. It is fantasic and they have all kinds of designer everything for WAY less.
Enjoy

Love those! I want a pair when I get to my goal weight.0 -
Nope not for jeans. But...... shoes. That's a different story.0
-
Never !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im frugal .........................0
-
Well, my sunglasses come from the dollar store....
I mostly wear colored t-shirts that I can get 6 for $15.....
All my dress clothes are bought on clearance and lower retail outlets....
So no, I would personally never pay that much. But if you want to reward yourself, absolutely do it.
I do pay more for shoes...I like Asics for walking/running.0 -

I heard about those - the ones that go from black to see-through...?0 -
You are super close to your goal weight. I would make them a reward when you get there, that way they won't be too big in a couple months!
I like this idea.0
