    These calculations don't appear to consider muscle mass and body fat.

    The Hamwi method is a popular way to calculate your ideal body weight range. For women, start with 100 lb. for the first 5 feet of height; add 5 pounds for every inch over 5 feet. Adjustments are made for large and small frames (add or subtract 10 percent). For example, a woman who is 5-foot-4 would add 20 lb. (4 inches X 5 Ib.) to 100 lb., giving her an ideal body weight range of 108 - 132 lb. (120 lb. plus or minus 10 percent). For men, start with 106 lb. for the first 5 feet of height and add 6 lb. for every inch over 5 feet (plus or minus 10 percent).

    I have so much more muscle mass now than I did 14 lbs ago. For me to get back to 128 lbs, I'd have to get to 13% BF. I'm currently at 23% BF and 142 lbs. This calculator which uses LBM says I need to be 138 to be at 20% BF (my goal). I know when I'm 138, I'm feeling really good and the comments are rolling in to that effect.

    I'm sorry, let me catch my breath.

    They don't factor in body type at all. I'm a 5'2 hourglass, and would look like skeletor at those weights. Most of my pics I'm about 145, and had family telling me I didn't need to lose more. My goal is 135 - 137, my frame was not made for much lower weights. I have zero desire to be less than 130.

    At 110 - 115 I'd look gaunt and bony. Not in a million years. I want to be 140. I don't care if I'm slightly over the healthy BMI. I'd rather be where I'm comfortable than have a tiny weight to try and maintain for forever.

    Aimeerace, we must be the same height. I got the same exact weights you did. I have a super small frame, however, and I'm not too curvy, so I look best at the lower end of the range. I currently weigh 108-ish, and I don't look too thin. I just need more muscle.

    Yeah I'm a well built 5ft2 woman I'm afraid. Never been small so I really would look awful. My sister looks amazing slim though. Funny how different we can all be

    Bottom line - one size or calculation does not fit all.
    That's interesting, but it seems kind of circular in a way. Just because I've reached my goal body fat percentage doesn't mean I've reached my ideal weight, if I want to be bulkier with the same body fat percentage.

    ETA: It does put me at only about five pounds off -- 219 -- so I definitely like that part about it.

    I think these are about the right area for me. I'm currently 166 and my goal is 160 at which point I plan to evaluate how I look and decide whether that is the right weight. It is possible I will decide to go a little lower into the 150s. I'm 5'9.5" and while I look pretty good here, I still see excess fat that needs to go.

    I'm 5'6 and weigh about 123lbs currently. I hadn't expect these formulas to project a higher weight than I feel comfortable at, and this is my highest weight for 2 or 3 years as well. I feel weird about that result.
