Anyone else feel a little mentally fatigued from this "journey?" How do you cope? What are your strategies for staying on point in other areas of life and not letting the quest to drop lbs zap all your mental energy?

When I was heavy, I thought about food all the time anyway. "What can I get my hands on now? I'm hungry." "How many servings can I put on my plate before someone judges me?" "I totally deserve X treat when I get home because I've had a bad day and screw weight loss." Etc...

I guess tracking is just refocusing that mental energy, so it hasn't been terrible this time around.

I will say, I did stop tracking after I'd been here for a while with a previous account. I eat similar things every day, so I started relying on "guestimations" of my normal food. E.g. - I weighed out my rice for two weeks (I have rice for dinner almost every night). After a while, I just kind of learned what approximately 100 grams looks like on my plate. Plus, I was eating down to 1200 calories, so I had a little wiggle room if I underestimated a meal.

I had some decent success with it actually, just not as much success as I've had tracking meticulously, so if you're feeling fatigued about tracking, this might be an option. Just be careful. I'm back here because I started gaining again. Those little underestimations can build up after a while.

I'm a foodie too, but I mostly limit my creativity to the three or four nights a week I cook for my fiance and the day I cook for my massage therapist, with whom I have a barter arrangement.

Okay, obsessing over food aside--that is an awesome arrangement. I love a good massage! Nice work!
