I have been eating clean for the last 2 months (just started my journey), work out with a trainer twice a week but work out on my own at the gym 2 days a week as well. 4 days at the gym. I am down about 10 pounds. 58 years old. Female I guess I thought I would see more weight loss. I am so much more active than ever. Am I expecting too much too soon? 210 pounds. Almost always under suggested calories by 300 or so calories.

In terms of pure weight loss, then its nohing to do with eating clean and everything to do with being at an accurate calorific deficit. Thats where your focus should be. 5lbs a month is a very good amount. I think you only have a reasonable hope for a weight loss equivalent to how much dficit you are creating. It would depend on what you were doing at the gym and how many accurte calories you have burned, but exercise tends to be for fitness first as it takes many hours to burn enough calories for 1lb.
Your details are too vague, but the gist of it is you are doing very well, your expectations are probably unrealistic based on what you are doing. Be patient as slow and steady wins the race.0 -
Definitely weigh out your food and if you are using MFP's calories burned estimates for your exercising, cut that number in half because MFP grossly exaggerates the calorie burn. These two things will help you to get a better idea of your calories in and calories out each day and a more accurate idea of how big a calorie deficit you have for your weight loss.
Also, you may have lost a bunch of inches in the last two months instead of a lot of weight. Did you take before and after pictures? Does your clothes feel looser? Can you tell that your fitness level is improving? Try using other factors to help determine your weight loss progress instead of relying solely on the scale. The scale is of the devil, by the way!

10 pounds in two months is great! Congrats on the loss to date.
However, weight loss mostly happens in the kitchen, not the gym. You should purchase (or begin using) a food scale instead of relying on measuring cups for solids. And create your own recipe builder entries for items instead of relying on generic entries like "Chicken - Fajita Meat - Fajita Meat, 6 oz " or "Homemade - Caprese Salad, 0.75 salad." You could be off by hundreds of calories.
And the poster who points out that you should be proud of non-scale victories too has it right on.0
