    Define "real" and "fake" foods.

I would consider fresh strawberries "real" strawberry jam "fake" Porridge Oats "real" Lucky Charms "fake"

you're going to go far here

    Fake jam.

Everything this company puts out is fake. Other companies? Notnecessarilysomuch.

I agree that with the OP's current carb count, the sugars are likely to take care of themselves.

I think my mind just imploded trying to grok that image.

    hitting about
    1600 cal a day

    60 carbs
    120 fat
    111 protein
    16 fibre
23 sugar - all from real food

worried eating too much protein - aiming for following a low-moderate carb diet

That's not low-moderate carb...that's almost keto ...you might want to look at the keto group

I think your protein is quite low

Your fibre target should be set to 35

And fine if you want to cut out refined sugar, you're probably going to have to do that anyway due to your very low carbs..however there is no reason to if you don't have a medical condition that dictates it

Even when you buy jam from the grocery store, what in the world makes them fake?

the ones with next to no fruit in might qualify ?

Idk, when I think "fake" food I think about the plastic fruit people put on their tables for decoration.

(And really? Flagging my post because I don't understand what makes store bought jam not a real food? Don't ever change, MFP.)

Why don't you eat in a way that will be sustainable for life? If you see yourself eating this way for life than go for it.
